A lore inteira do John Stewart na série é que o Hal destruiu a vida da família dele por ser "privilegiado".

O John Stewart está destinado a virar o Lanterna Verde no lugar do Hal por reparação ao pai dele(que foi escolhido antes do Hal).

Tudo de especial sobre o John Stewart veio dos GENES dele e TREINAMENTO desde a infância, nada sobre caráter e emocional, nada de ser escolhido pelo homem que ele é..(que deveria ser o elemento mais importante da lore).

Plus, ter pais abusivos que te jogam em locais perigosos e atiram na sua cabeça é na verdade ótimo e puro amor.

A série quer muito fazer isso ser uma disputa racial e gerar polêmica. Cagaram o John Stewart e o Hal Jordan em troca disso.

Tem inúmeras questões sociais, raciais, e críticas que poderiam ser feitas com esses personagens, que inclusive sempre foram feitas nas HQs, sem necessidade de cagar toda a lore dos Lanternas Verdes no DCU.

Oa is basically an abandoned shopping mall.

John Stewart’s father was almost a Green Lantern.

His mom has no fear while the dad is a train wreck.

A Guardian fixes their trauma by handing the family a giant diamond that people believe is stolen because of the color of their skin.

Hal Jordan wrecked John’s military career before they even met, then shows up at his parents’ house making a Huxtables joke.

This is what DC’s biggest cosmic mythology has been reduced to.

No spectacle. Barely any Green Lantern. Just cheap-looking sets, rewrites, lectures and f-bombs.

If this is the future of the DCU, cancel it.
