It's scary to acknowledge how much longer your days feel when you don't psychologically retreat into technology
Makes you realise how much of your life has disappeared into various screens.
High-agency people genuinely believe that reality is negotiable in a "there are always more levers to pull" way. It's about having this bone-deep conviction that if you keep poking at something from different angles, eventually something will give.
High-agency people seem to have this weird immunity to embarrassment.
Getting rejected? Not embarrassing, that’s just data collection.
Looking naive? Not embarrassing, that’s just information asymmetry you’re fixing.
Breaking minor social rules? Not embarrassing, most rules are just Schelling points anyway.
What would be embarrassing to them is not trying. That’s the thing they can’t live with.
At no phase in your life should you be actively suffering while grinding to get to the next level - whatever that is for you. Gotta be using uplifting energy sources like healthy eating, the sun, sports, hobbies, good friends, loving women. Dark energy is powerful but it burns twice as quick. Light energy lasts much longer and will make you feel fulfilled (doubling effect). No reason to be gloomy while trying to hit some money goal. Work in deep work segments. Then go play pickleball for two hours. Grab some pho on the way back. Then finish another deep work session. Get good sleep. Preferably with a hot girl you don't mind having around. Repeat next day. Maybe a surf session. Maybe a boat you rented out with the boys. Meanwhile you're leveling up daily, weekly, monthly, annually while never letting go of your life outside of work. This has always always always been my philosophy, even moreso now. Theres 0 race my nigga. All in your mind. If you're not waking up inside a coffin, you always have tomorrow. Chin the fuck up, remember who you are. Every day could be a decent one - and a lot of them should be fantastic. Summers coming up so I highly recommend you get this lifestyle I described inscribed in your bones. No 1920, 1990s, or whatever timeline is better than the one we live in now. Improve your lifestyle so everything you do is multiple times more enjoyable. Make more money so everything you do is multiple times more enjoyable. Spend time with exclusively good people so everything you do is multiple times more enjoyable. This really is the blueprint handed down to you. No Library of Alexandria expedition required.
I promise you you’d rather be old & wrinkly laughing at all the failed businesses, all the investments you lost money on, all the girls that rejected you
Than to not have any failures to laugh at because you played scared your whole life
learning how to tell when advice is really just someone else’s regret in disguise. your divorced friend cautioning you about marriage, your broke uncle’s take on investments, your unhappy parent steering your career.
they are not advising you. they are processing themselves. once you learn to hear the wound behind the words you stop letting lost people give you directions.
Beware the trap of being really smart yet spending most of that bandwidth on things you have little control over.
High intelligence with little agency is the pipeline to unexplainable anxiety
Everyone i talk to who is living an above average quality of life full of play and fun tells me to disregard strategy and just go for what my most playful self wants to do each day, and everyone i talk to who is living a more average life with a normal amount of draining obligations tells me to strategize now in order to get to the eventual playfulness hmmmmm
DO NOT BEG.
I watched a movie where a man was about to be fired from his job.
He went on his knees like a slave and begged his employer for his job.
You could see the look of disappointment and disgust on the employer's face.
He fired him.
Begging is always a mistake.
I shall explain.
That man begged for his job because he had a scarcity mentality. He believed that without that job his life would be screwed.
It was a lie.
There were millions of jobs and opportunities he could access, but scarcity mentality made him lose his dignity and beg like a slave.
Don't beg anyone for anything.
Don't beg for love, affection, relationship, friendship or attention.
Don't beg for opportunity, help or advantage.
Begging makes you subservient to whomsoever you beg.
Begging diminishes you, dehumanizes you, demeans you.
To think that without someone or something you will fail is telling yourself a lie.
There are a thousand ways to your destiny.
When one door shuts, another door opens.
You are never at a loss.
All things are working together for your good, to your benefit and to your advantage.
Having a scarcity mentality makes you beg idiots who are beneath you for help and opportunity.
Having a scarcity mentality makes you kowtow to fools because they are in a position of power.
There's abundance in the universe.
Let your intuition guide you to greener pastures.
When you are in the wrong environment, with the wrong group of people, with the wrong person, with the wrong organisation, with the wrong project, with the wrong job, you will beg.
Begging humiliates you.
Begging degrades you.
Begging shames you.
Do. Not. Beg.
Create value to attract what you want.
Always give some of value in exchange for what you want from people.
The whole retardmaxxing thing is actually so real. Meet an oddball and initially you're just like ok this guy definitely has a few screws loose. Not a total weirdo but catches you off guard
But as time goes on you eventually realize he's not trying to be that way and that he's actually just comfort in one's own skin mogging you into normalizing his way of conducting affairs. Then you start to question if you're being too rigid in how you move
Total left curve victory. This is unironically how you get whatever you want in life. Present the most natural and unforced version of yourself and just rep it. Be so carefree that the world has no choice but to acquiesce to your version of reality
dudes will spend 4 hours researching the perfect productivity system and then not do a single productive thing for the rest of the week.
brother the system is: do the thing. do the thing. do the thing.
the best productivity hack in existence is starting. not planning to start. not preparing to start. not reading about how other people start. just starting. messy and ugly and imperfect. the momentum comes after. never before.
please normalize having more fun in life.
everything that is playful to you has the potential to set you apart from everyone else
live by this for at least 1 week and you will see your life with new eyes. it’s definitely something we forget over time
Btw Its a proven fact that
Your brain only registers a task as difficult and stress inducing when you're told its supposed to be difficult
Otherwise your brain naturally registers it as fun and competitive
Do not listen to anyone that tries to make life hard
Everything is fun
There’s no need to be afraid of any scenario in life, because it isn’t personal and it isn't the first time some has found themselves in such a scenario. It’s structural. The ego wants dramatic suffering. It wants its pain to be mythic. But most suffering is procedural. It’s part of the design of being alive.
You are not uniquely cursed. You are not cosmically targeted. You are simply next in line. Because if your problem is not divinely customized, then it is ordinary. And if it is ordinary, it is survivable. Millions before you have stood in this same queue. They felt the same dread. They thought it was the end. It wasn’t.
Imagine looking back and realizing that you weren't brave enough to chase the life you truly wanted and now you constantly wonder whether it would have worked.
"What will I regret not having done when I'm old, and why haven't I done it yet" is one of the best questions you can ask yourself daily.
What no one tells you growing up is that you have a ridiculous amount of power to set yourself up for the win
Each morning when you wake up (first thing), tell yourself what is going to happen that day and how it will happen
You will be surprised by the outcome and how it works
nobody tells you this but the gym creates a disgusting unfair advantage in life.
and this is the most underrated life hack: get close to 12% body fat and watch how every other area of your life suddenly improves. your diet gets clean because you don't want to ruin progress. your sleep becomes sacred because recovery matters. your work ethic skyrockets because discipline is now your identity.
the gym is the trojan horse for total life transformation.
