@LordCharizard33 Two completely different types of games, with two different player bases. Apples to Oranges, man. Marathon is an awesome universe 30+ years in the making. I have a feeling they will continue to give us new ways to experience it in new seasons. Those of us who play it enjoy it!
@personalhimbo Hopefully we get a lovely campaign in the future! That would be another great way to experience the marathon universe (and personally I think they should’ve done that out of the gate). I think marathon keeps evolving in front of our eyes into the future🤘🏼
@BlueWestlo Pretty steep learning curve to really learn the in’s and out’s of the map. Don’t be discouraged, I felt the same way in Season 1, it gets better!
Looking forward to the PvE mode coming next month to really be able to learn the map!
@MidaSponsordKit Lemme go get my gold stocks out of my vault, we ride! lol jk I burnt out on ARC after grinding it super hard for a couple months at release. Fun game!
@Bugzvii Hell yeah! W tech! I’ve still yet to take down our friend Mr Compiler even once😅 one day..one day! Hard to find consistency in Cryo when my crew isn’t available all the time, solo-fill just ain’t it most of the time
@Bugzvii@Bungie I’m buying 100 shares and holding that shit lmao 😂 fr though it’s sad to see all this hate fueled by emotions. Bungie really let everybody expectations of a D3 down
@Bugzvii For a multiplayer based game, 3 ‘regular’ maps & 1 fantastic end game map that is only available a few days a weekend, is not enough right now. We need new corridors to fight in, new secrets to uncover, a huge map to fight on or just never see another team. We want more Bungie!!
@MicDubTV Couldn’t have said it any better! Great post man. Here’s to the fun we’ve already had, and the hope/belief that this game truly blossoms into something magical! 🤘🏼
It’s an amazing sci-fi world, I’d love to experience it in more ways than just the extraction loop!
This is probably one of my biggest gripes with Marathon.
I understand that Bungie wants people to play together, but with the emphasis on team play + the small maps & number of players on them, the game becomes “let’s play like it’s Apex until the lobby is wiped”.
Because of these things, the Marathon community has a very skewed view of what the extraction genre is. Additionally, solo play feels like a bit of an afterthought, which is disappointing to me. It’s been changed some though, so that’s a start at least.
Sure, Bungie has their own vision & I respect that, but people seem to think that “kill everything” is the point of the game rather than “loot, survive, fight, extract, progress”.
Like, hell, even the Arachne cult isn’t fleshed out. People drone about the death cult in Marathon, yet don’t actually care about it beyond using it as validation for why they only care about PvP. They just think, “unless everyone is killing everything, they’re playing the game wrong or they’re soft.” This argument doesn’t really have a leg to stand on, especially if you’ve played other extraction titles.
Additionally, due to this view from many in the community, so many people don’t even care about the narrative of the game or where it’s going. That in itself is a major issue. Especially for those of us with knowledge of the original trilogy & want to see how the narrative progresses (because it’s legitimately one of the most interesting sci-fi worlds out there). Instead, whenever any new content that even hints at PvE is spoken about, they get up in arms. It’s annoying AF. But this is also how the game was marketed. Bungie set out to bring in these sorts of players.
I’m not saying that everyone needs to care about what I do, lol. But, if you don’t, you need to recognize that there is more to Marathon than just skinning other Runners.
I do believe that hardcore PvPers, casuals, loreheads, and everyone else CAN coexist and there CAN be a good middle ground where most people are happy, but there is quite a bit of work to be done in-game AND out. Time is also needed tbf.
Due to the situation at Bungie, I think that Marathon is going to evolve into something different than any of us really anticipated (that’s not necessarily a bad thing either), but it is still an extraction shooter right now. And I think some people in the community need to stop shitting on others who don’t subscribe to the “kill everything and that’s it” mindset. Especially when we need more stuff to draw people into Marathon if we want it, and Bungie, to survive.
@MidaSponsordKit Grey salvage = worm-maxing 🐛 💪🏽 love feeding the lil guys poop and diodes. You can easily get 50+ a run in sponsored survival it’s great lol
@IFrostBolt I understand being a PvP-first player, cuz I am as well, but I don’t understand your stance on not even wanting to try the new mode once. Personally, I give everything a fair shot, even just once. Who knows, you MIGHT just like it 😉 all love and jokes man! Love your content 🤘🏼
