Volgens De Standaard (wie anders) was "de airco-discussie" een paar weken geleden een, je verzint het niet: "klassiek door radicaal-rechts opgepookt cultuuroorlogje, overgewaaid uit Frankrijk". Hoe ideologisch blind voor de feiten kan je zijn.

Doorheen regelgeving en overheidsadviezen wordt/werd airco in Vlaanderen wel degelijk als iets te mijden beschouwd. Het ging/gaat zelfs zo ver dat je bij bepaalde rennovatie géén actieve koelfunctie mag hebben. Anders verlies je steun.

Geen wonder dat overheidsplekken waar het hitte-risico het grootst is (zoals woonzorgcentra en scholen) dikwijls geen airco hebben. Overheden raden "het planten van een boom" of "een ventilator" aan.

Ik kreeg trouwens van deze krant de vraag om een aantal concrete voorbeelden te geven. Heb ze er een hele hoop bezorgd. Daar is niets mee gedaan (prima geen probleem). En nu komen ze zeggen dat het een "cultuur-oorlogje van radicaal rechts" is.

Sjah. Typische reflex van verenigd links. Een podcast van 800.000 euro? "Extremisten die tegen gelijke kansen zijn". De regelgeving van de overheid is totaal niet aangepast aan hitte? "Cultuuroorlog van radicaal-rechts!". Lekker makkelijk.

Overigens waren het linkse ministers op kop die nadien mea culpa sloegen. Airco zou uit het verdomhoekje gehaald worden. Zelfs het stadbestuur van Gent (over radicaal gesproken) pastte zijn adviezen plots aan. Snel gecapituleerd in de cultuuroorlog dan.
