there is no perfect person, and there is no perfect spouse.
i think one of the secrets to a successful marriage is truly understanding this. you know your person. you know their flaws, their weaknesses, their annoying habits, the parts of them that are "difficult to live with". and sometimes, after years of trying, you may have to accept that certain things about them may never completely change.
maybe your spouse is forgetful, so you learn to remind them without turning every forgotten thing into a character indictment "you never pay attention", "you're always forgetful".
maybe they are not naturally expressive, a little stubborn, slow to make decisions, or simply wired very differently from you.
marriage cannot survive if two people are constantly trying to remodel each other into their own image of the perfect spouse.
when you say you love someone, it means you know that person has a weakness and you choose not to weaponise it against them. loving them is knowing what "irritates" you about them and learning which things genuinely need to change, which things require patience, and which things you simply need to make room for.
again, you will not find a flawless person. and if you spend your marriage fighting every imperfection in your spouse, you may eventually destroy something good in pursuit of something that does not exist.
forget what people yap about nowadays. in marriage, you must be an understanding partner. advise them with kindness where change is necessary, but also learn to accommodate the harmless imperfections that come with being human. thank you!
We recently had a big fight..
First, it didn’t stop us from performing our individual duties…. No matter how angry I am, I go cook for my husband and he will always give me money.
On bad days, one thing that keeps us sane is, we love each other like mad and we’re not intentionally offending ourselves.
When the tension dies down,
We both realize nothing has changed
We tackle the issue jokingly and sort it.
If a traditional Man refuses to be with a traditional woman , don’t disturb us if your choice displays Her normal self. Don’t expect Her to change for you, go for your kind and stop being childish here
If you want a stay at home wife Go for one, Don't go after an ambitious, career driven lady and expect Her to drop Her career and life ambitions for you. That's evil , If you do and She wants a divorce so be it.
Ladies , Communicate, Have your list of non negotiables, Be clear about the kind of life and future you want, Discuss it .
If you close your mouth and you don't discuss your expectations, then don't come cry fowl when reality Hits.
You are an adult with God given brain and mouth for a reason.
Don't be lazy , Don't be mediocre, Life is unkind and grossly unpleasant to poor people
Life is not meant to be fair, You must create your own fairness in it .
It's never too late to write a new chapter, Be proud of the story you will write for yourself at the end of it all.
Your Religion is not a barrier to you being successful and Rich as a woman. Come out of your own head and start taking action today.
It's a Marathon , enjoy the race and Ask God for help and assistance as you execute.
There is a particular kind of manipulation that thrives in Nigerian Muslim communities and it has been so normalized that most women do not even recognize it when it is happening to them.
It sounds like this: "A woman who chases money will forget her home." "Financial independence will make her arrogant." "She doesn't need to work, that is the man's responsibility."
And because it is delivered wrapped in religion, most women swallow it whole.
But here is what nobody tells you that is not Islam. That is insecurity dressed in a jalabiya.
The Quran gave women property rights over 1400 years ago when Europe had not even conceptualized the idea. Khadijah (RA) was one of the wealthiest merchants in Mecca.
She employed the Prophet ﷺ before he became a Prophet. Her financial power never made her less of a wife, less of a Muslimah, or less of a woman. It made her one of the greatest human beings to ever walk this earth.
So when did we decide that a woman knowing her money is a threat?
I will tell you when. The moment men realized that a woman with options is a woman they cannot manipulate. Financial dependency is not modesty. It is a control mechanism. And we have been conditioned to protect it by calling it deen.
I have always believed that money is not a man's conversation it is a human necessity.
And as a Muslim woman specifically, understanding wealth is not rebellion. It is your right. It is your protection. It is quite literally built into your religion.
Nobody should have to be
Beg for maintenance, stay in a toxic marriage because they cannot afford to leave, or shrink their ambitions because a man's ego is more comfortable with their ignorance.
Women like @ronkecarew exist in this space and remind me that this is not a radical opinion. It is simply what happens when you actually read when you go back to the source instead of inheriting somebody's cultural anxiety and calling it faith.
Know your deen. Own your money. They were never in conflict to begin with. 🤍

I got a job after I had my first son and had to leave for training. It was the first time my son was going to sleep without me and I was worried how he will cope. He was just two years old.
I called my mum who was his guardian one evening crying cause I was beginning to feel the effect of the separation and was seriously considering going back home.
My mum asked me just one question. She said “what do you remember of me what you were two years old?” And in truth, i remembered nothing. She told me that if I fail to put my finance in order now, my son will ask me what I did with my youth when my mates were building their career.
That was all the motivation I needed to complete my training.
I thank the Lord that I am a leaver. Not loving me right? I leave.
Not acting right? I leave.
I just pray I don’t end up partnered with someone who will stain my white and have me looking like a mad woman.
Men are very intentional human beings. Intentional with their kindness and x10 more intentional with their wickedness.
Your first mistake as a woman is making excuses for a man thinking he doesn’t know what he’s doing.
Women are suffering kai. Cos what in the world is that? Chai, I feel second hand shame for her. My God 🤦♀️
You think you found a calm, chill guy... until you realize he's not calm at all.
He's just a dismissive avoidant who doesn't know how to communicate like an adult.
no man is nonchalant.
you're just not the type of girl he wants again.
a man that loves you won't snub you for hours. even a second is enough to tell you he's busy.
a man that loves you can't go a day without hearing from you.
no man is ever busy for a lady he truly cares about.
no man, i mean no man, is too busy for a woman he really wants. don’t be fooled.
he’s not nonchalant, he just doesn't love you again lol.. he's chalanting elsewhere.
he knows you love him, but you're just not the girl he wants. maybe he's tired of you.?
remember a man that truly loves you would do anything to make you happy. even if he doesn't have, he will still try his best.
you mean nothing to that man!!!
This is him just last month reciting Qur'an to our hearings in Unilorin at AMIS ( Annual Medico-Islamic Symposium ) hosted by Unilorin AMHS ( Association Of Muslim Health Students ).

Before I had my baby, or even before I started thinking about motherhood, I used to silently judge mums a little. Anytime I visited friends with kids and saw toys everywhere, unfolded clothes on the chair, or random baby things scattered around the house, I’d wonder to myself, how do they just leave everywhere like this without arranging it? Even on TikTok, I’d watch some mums record videos with messy backgrounds and lowkey think, her space should have tidied up a bit before filming.
Now that I have a crawling baby who wants to touch everything, carry everything, scatter everything, and somehow appear in every corner of the house at the exact same time, I finally understand. You can literally tidy up a place completely, turn around for two minutes, and wipes emptied out, toys everywhere.
I’m actually a very neat person. I genuinely love clean and organized spaces. But motherhood has taught me that sometimes rest is more important than trying to maintain perfection every second of the day. There are days I look around and just leave the mess because I know the moment I start arranging one side, my baby is already busy destroying another side.
Honestly, becoming a mum has made me softer and more understanding especially towards mothers. A lot of things look easy from the outside until life puts you in that exact position. It’s so easy to have opinions about people’s situations when you’ve never experienced them yourself.
Sometimes, you truly cannot judge or fully understand someone’s situation until life allows you walk through it yourself.
If you like, don’t speak your truth.
Let them silence you with, “is it this one you’re stressing yourself on?”
Wo, reputation e lo fi n’tayin yen.
Let them accuse you of things completely different from who you are, and allow yourself keep taking advice that doesn’t suit your situation or your person, ti e ba ẹ niyen.
We’re in a world of receipts.
The person with the best memory and the ability to express themselves clearly will always have the upper hand.
Above all, deal with responsible people.
People who can own up to their actions.
People who won’t twist narratives carelessly.
People who are emotionally mature and fair.
People who won’t weaponize your silence, vulnerability, or reputation against you.
If you and your partner's priorities & vision of the future don't align, it will never work. Attraction or money won't save you, sex won't save you, and riding it out won't save you either. You must align on priorities and goals, or you are just cruising down a dead end road
