@InternetH0F I see a lot of people talking about their college/HS nightmares but Apparently in my dreams I’m too busy joining fintech startups as a PM and then chasing the crypto douchebro CEO through interdimensional doors trying to ask him questions to bother looking at a cell phone.
@chhopsky@tha_rami I started in QA, honestly the best place to learn the ins and outs of game dev at entry level. Studied project management and transitioned to producer. Product management is also helpful- product mgmt responsibilities vary wildly company to company
@Spac3Gh0s7_@_TechJess I called every obgyn within an hour of me and said “I’m 28, I want to get sterilized, do you have a doctor who would be willing to speak with me about that option?”
Found one eventually, got it done at 29. My old GP had laughed at me when i asked her so I just did it on my own
@KennyKehinde12@jeremy_peel But so many movies and games get canned because they're good but won't pull the numbers the execs want. I've worked on game titles I really liked, but didn't have enough profit potential so got cancelled and everyone got fired. Execs ONLY want cash grabs.
@MisterMyztik@cuppy er, but with gaming*
it's just such an enthralling form of interactive media people devote their lives to, differently from other industries, and feels more accessible than movies/tv
@MisterMyztik@cuppy Of course. Like I said, no dream jobs in capitalism XD but with there's always that desire to be at a company that made a game that you fell in love with, in a slightly different way than someone who said "I love that house, I want to be an architect." Don't meet your heroes.
