Women in general don't really pay much attention to history. It's one of the reasons why it's so much easier to push propaganda on them compared to men.

80% of women are psychologists. It was 20% in 1960.
Now we have an over medicated population of women. So it's women that are the ones over medicating women now.

So even average looking women think that they are much prettier than they actually are. This hardly points to a lack of self esteem despite your anecdotal claims.
