Today, I attended and oversaw the formal handover of the consolidated agenda items and recommendations emerging from Ethiopia’s National Dialogue to the House of Peoples’ Representatives, the Federal Government, and Regional Governments.
This handover marks an important milestone in the National Dialogue process and reaffirms the commitment to addressing Ethiopia’s longstanding challenges through inclusive dialogue, peaceful deliberation, and nationally owned solutions.
ENDF under my brother Field Marshal Birhanu Jula is one of the strongest armies in Africa. The war will be short and all the adversaries will be defeated badly.
On this historic day, we have gathered in the city of Assosa for the one-day planting event, in a region known for its natural abundance, mineral wealth, and fertile lands. With the conclusion of today's event, we will have planted around 40 billion seedlings since the launch of the Green Legacy program in 2019. Of the seedlings planted in the past year, 50% have been focused on food security, soil conservation, and combating land degradation. As we move forward, we must continue planting in areas like the Abay River Basin to support water conservation.
Gratitude to the Sidama Region for your continued warm welcome. Today, we reviewed the productivity of the Bounty of the Basket initiative in Hawassa and took part in planting our #GreenLegacy ahead of the upcoming National Planting Day.
Leave it or not, history is meant to learn from, and this is what happened from 1980 to 1991 in the Somali Republic. Without our Ethiopian brothers, we wouldn’t have survived. Thanks to Ethiopia.
Somaliland wasn’t easily earned; it was won through struggle.

The National Defence Forces play a crucial role not only in ensuring the sovereignty and peace of the nation but also in contributing to its development. The ongoing efforts in wheat production, agriculture, #GreenLegacy initiatives, and various industrial outputs are vital in advancing our development and laying the foundation for prosperity. The defence forces are not just a source of peace but also a source of development and innovation. The progress being made in this regard is promising, and it is essential to continue and strengthen these efforts.
Forests are vital for the planet's health and human well-being. They provide oxygen, store carbon, and regulate the climate, helping to mitigate climate change. Forests are also home to a vast array of biodiversity, offering habitat to millions of species. Let’s protect our existing forests and continue increasing our forest coverage by planting. Get ready for August 23rd!
