Today, we're launching shift. We're starting by cleaning your apartment in New York City, for free.

Here's how it works. Book a shift cleaning. A vetted shift operator comes to your home wearing one of our devices. They clean. They leave. You pay nothing.

In exchange, we record the cleaning. Robotics is being built on data about how people do daily tasks, and the value of that recording is what funds the service. Anything personal in it is anonymized before the recording is processed.

By now, you have heard about the shift to AI more times than you can count. About the shift toward you, the part where you actually feel it, you have heard almost nothing. Shift is what starts to make it concrete, in specific cities, with specific services.

Today, cleaning in New York. Soon, handymen, repairs, and errands across the globe. And this is just one side of shift, with more on the way.

No surveillance, it’s purely to record hand object interactions to teach a robot to do these actions too in the future. All data is fully anonymized, faces blurred, text/IDs/sensitive documents censored and no accurate location is saved. We have many more privacy measures, but I’ll keep the comment short.

100%, we’re very transparent about that. The data gets used to train the next generation of general purpose robots that will be able to help out everyday people with their cleaning, chores and other tedious tasks. It is worth it for us to pay this much for cleaners in NYC, since egocentric human data in Western environments is the best for also deploying robots in Western environments

Thank you for this message! We care super deeply about this issue, and that is also why it’s good to be discussed. The shift to a post labour economy already started, and we want to make sure that we transition to a world of abundance for all instead of one of a permanent underclass.

To achieve this, a couple of things need to be in place:
1. Embodied AGI models should be local and small, providing everyone embodied AGI capabilities. Hence our name microagi ;)
2. Regular people should harvest the fruits of this growth in productivity, not just rich and powerful investors. For this reason we pay the highest in the market, provide (tokenized) equity and we are constantly working on new ways to transfer more wealth from the rich to regular people
3. Our tax, social support and government system will have to be redesigned from the ground up. We want to be close to governments to make sure that this happens in the most ethical and societally beneficial way possible

It’s great to bring these things up, more of this please!
