Problem is that after a few years, most people normalize extreme climate as normal
They also normalize disappearance of world Bees insects birds wildlife, marine life, forests wetlands and their replacement with a sterile barren lifeless landscape as normal
30 infants die and we recall 4.7 mil Rock ‘n Play Sleepers.
2 toddlers die and we recall 3.2 mil Calico Critters toys.
2 infants die and we recall so much formula that the US goes into shortage.
Last year, over 6,000 children were injured by gun violence.
Nothing. Nada.
Since 1990, the top 1% has been responsible for more emissions than half the world's population.
Climate policies that do not directly address these excess emissions of the top 1% are not only ineffective, but entrench neocolonial inequalities. #degrowth

It's amazing how quickly our elites went from "this is the best of all possible worlds and technology will solve climate change" to building armed bunkers in the mountains.
The idea that we can "overshoot" 1.5 C and then reverse ecological damage later with carbon dioxide removal is not empirical science, but capitalist ideology, which claims, falsely, that any negative externality of growth is temporary and can be overcome by innovation.
@danny_b754 Most of the world lives in a constant state of denial; completely unaware of what’s happening under their noses. It’s easier to believe an almighty power is responsible for what’s happening than to understand how humans even exist! 😵💫
Was hiking along in the boreal forest yesterday and found this cute northern saw-whet owl! He gave me the perfect head tilt pose!

Food shortages aren't just a result of the invasion of Ukraine. They're also due to heat and drought crop failures, and in the coming years, including the next few years, climate scarcity will increasingly become a factor in global geopolitics and human suffering. #EmergencyMode
Life-threatening heat just baked Spain and France. Tornadoes just blew through Germany. Drought is turning California, where we grow our produce, to desert.
We're at 1° of warming.
Can we please stop saying that the #ClimateCrisis doesn't really endanger the "developed world"?
