@unity3dvfx It's 100% about the marketing. For example, the Epstein Files suggest that FNAF got popular because Jeffrey Epstein paid $$$$$$ to have it boosted by influencers so he could ogle female streamers getting scared by it.
Game isn't even trying to convince me that its RNG isn't busted in a way that causes streaks
e.g. both sides of the second image have 20 red dots. Selecting random squares will give you way different individual results but still average out to the same rates over time
#umamusume
@vodkalover52 MANT is fine. The problem is that it made capping stats so easy while also raising the ceiling on legacy quality, such that parent runs became the only way to differentiate umas, with undertuned odds of inheriting sparks. A problem they...solved in other servers with spark reroll
@KrisUmasimp But it's not just them, a significant percentage of the competitive/whale playerbase are using the mods to farm parent/ace runs 3-4x as fast as normal players.
@KrisUmasimp There are a couple unauthorized steam mods that make the game run way faster. People using them are able to complete a full MANT run in 6 minutes. A bunch of the top clubs have been running a sacrificial bot account and laundering the high number of fans to their actual accounts.
@CastigliegoM@BaseOwl@ID_AA_Carmack This.
Take FNAF for example.
Simple game, but well executed, with novel concept, characters designed to appeal to a sizable demographic
Didn't actually matter.
Per Epstein Files, it got popular because he paid $$$$$$ to boost it so he could watch female streamers scream
@SeekWay Spending 30+30tp to get two spark results instead of spending 30+30tp to do two careers is p2w?
If that's your criteria then superskip is also p2w because it means whales can spend carats to get even more careers in.
