We are perfect in Christ (2 Cor 5:21). The Father loves us "even as"--as much as he loves his own son! Even those of us whom no one else notices. And he will eventually turn us into something blindingly beautiful (2 Cor 4:16-18).

@DavidBrooks224 Thank you for your insightful cultural analysis and your hopeful outlook for the future. Our culture and nation is going through a dark time of resentment and fragmentation. Thank you for sounding a sober but positive tone and offering real and practical ways for moving forward.
@CAHutch1990@jeretics One more thing to add-I guess our enjoyment of God will vary to the degree we are becoming more like Christ on this side of heaven?
