Whenever Moulvi uncle visited, I sat with him for hours. He was so articulate and impervious to life’s disturbances, carrying an unmatched of energy, a true divine spark. He and Daddy shared a special bond. May he be granted the highest place in Jannat.
On Gandhi Ji’s Jayanti, seeing our young people, despite all odds, gather at Shivaji Park and Jantar Mantar to defend the India we believe in fills my heart with hope.Gandhi Ji fought for our freedom and ultimately gave his life for the idea of an India where every citizen could live with dignity and freedom.
Today, that India is being tested. For me, remembering Gandhi Ji means finding the courage to stand up for the India he gave his life for.
I was deeply moved by the simplicity and beauty of Faza Zainab’s wedding celebrations. The warmth with which she and her family welcomed everyone felt so heartfelt and genuine. It felt like a family occasion in the truest sense, intimate, joyful and full of love, with some prominent guests but without turning it into a public spectacle.
Beyond looting Rs 114 crore from unemployed youth in just two years through JKSSB and JKPSC exam fees, the flawed RESERVATION policy that excludes Kashmiri-speaking people and the arbitrary VERIFICATION process that rejects them are being weaponised to push Kashmiri-speaking youth out of the system, raised these pressing concerns in the Assembly today, seeking rectification on these issues.
JKPDP Party President Ms @MehboobaMufti is attending the INDIA bloc meeting in New Delhi today, where opposition leaders are discussing serious concerns surrounding the Election Commission, the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, voter deletions and inclusions, EVMs and VVPAT.
The meeting will also discuss a coordinated response to protect the integrity of India’s electoral process and democratic institutions.
“Every thing is fair in love, war and Bihar”, Rizvi saheb popularised this line to become an idiom. Rest in peace sir. Kashmir and Ladakh will always remember you as one of the finest officers and friends. Of course, from Bihar
Of the total Capex allocation of Rs 9,566.30 crore in the Union Territory, Rs 5,102.25 crore was for the Jammu division, and Rs 4,464.05 crore for the Valley. Of this, Rs 5,837.91 crore has been released, Rs 3,292.93 crore of that for Jammu, and Rs 2,544.98 crore for Kashmir.

The reservation issue has become the most burning concern for the youth of Jammu & Kashmir especially the youth of our valley. Reservation issue is not merely a matter of percentages or government orders but about the dreams, aspirations and opportunities of an entire generation.
I will raise this issue on every possible forum and platform and will continue to speak for those young people who feel that their opportunities are slipping away despite years of hard work, preparation and sacrifice. We will never tolerate the “genocide of opportunities” of our youth. Every young person deserves a fair chance to compete, grow and build a dignified future. Our children should not have to abandon their dreams because the system has failed to create a rational and balanced framework.
We will stand with the youth of Jammu & Kashmir not for a political gains nor for publicity but for justice, fairness and equal opportunity.
Today, Indian strategic thinking needs to look beyond the immediate constraints posed by the Line of Control with Pakistan and the Line of Actual Control with China. Where political and security conditions permit, India needs a pragmatic framework to gradually restore Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh to the role they historically occupied that of a bridge connecting South Asia with Central Asia and the wider Eurasian landmass.

India stands at a critical demographic crossroads. Its vast youth population is an economic advantage but a true demographic dividend requires education skills employment& meaningful opportunities.Wdout these the promise ofyouth risks turning into disillusionment

An appeal to every Indian who cherishes the democratic and
secular values that bind our diverse nation together. Let us come together and raise our voices for the India we believe in.
Join us at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on 29 September, from 2–5 PM.
The State Subject laws introduced by the Maharaja have been snatched away, and Article 35-A, our constitutional guarantee has been done away with. What we get in return is a public holiday to mark his birthday.
One wonders, if the rights the Maharaja stood for have been torn to shreds, how does an antic like a holiday on his birthday honor him
@GreaterKashmir@jkpdp
Happy Birthday, @parawahid Sir . 🎂 On a day that takes you from a court hearing to the Assembly, may Allah grant you strength, courage and wisdom to keep raising the voice of our youth and people. Wishing you a long and purposeful journey ahead.
Waiting in an NIA court Srinagar, facing yet another hearing in a UAPA case, when I should be sitting in the Assembly, speaking for the people.
Perhaps this is the cruelest irony of our reality.
We have elections.
We have a government.
We have an Assembly.
We have the appearance of normalcy.
And yet, beneath that fragile surface, there is a Kashmir carrying years of grief, fear, silence and unanswered questions.
For the ordinary Kashmiri, life has become a strange paradox: so much changes, and yet nothing truly changes.
The calendar moves. Governments change. Elections happen. Institutions reopen.
But the wounds remain.
Today is my birthday.
And perhaps birthdays are not always meant for celebration. Some are meant for reckoning.
To ask ourselves why we were born, what we are meant to stand for, and whether we have the courage to carry the pain of our people without looking away.
If I have to spend my birthday in a courtroom instead of the Assembly, let it at least remind me of this:
We are not born merely to live through history. We are born to speak when history becomes unbearable for our people.
Data for the last 8 years, provided by the J&K Revenue Department in response to my question, No. of reservation certificates issued since 2018. Exposes shocking figures.
JAMMU DIVISION
14,17,028 certificates — 80.4%
KASHMIR DIVISION
3,45,918 certificates — 19.6%
Total J&K: 17,63,946
The district-wise comparison is equally stark:
Jammu: 1,98,910 | Srinagar: 4,466
Rajouri: 4,37,479 | Ganderbal: 20,556
Poonch: 3,24,753 | Pulwama: 19,614
Kathua: 1,17,315 | Shopian: 18,476
Kishtwar: 39,709 | Bandipora: 22,325
Udhampur: 83,616 | Kulgam: 26,760
Samba: 58,583 | Anantnag: 52,086
Doda: 62,776 | Baramulla: 73,379
Reasi: 53,023 | Kupwara: 80,289
14.17 lakh in Jammu Division vs 3.46 lakh in Kashmir Division.
These are official figures placed before the Assembly by the Revenue Department. Such a wide regional disparity in the issuance of reservation certificates demands transparency and a detailed explanation.
It is deeply distressing that Pakistan, which is the chief mediator of peace between war torn Iran and America, is showing such little tolerance for dissent at home. Detaining Imran Khan’s sisters for standing up for their brother’s freedom is deeply troubling. I hope the saner voices in the establishment will speak out against such arbitrary use of power and that the sisters will be released soon.
JKPDP President Ms. @MehboobaMufti interacting with scholars, writers, authors and veteran activists of the Kashmiri language to understand the challenges confronting its preservation and promotion, and to discuss practical ways to strengthen its place in our cultural and public life.
Sat among artists and adeebs speaking of Kashmiri not just as words, but as our mothers’ lullabies, our shared ache, and our identity. When a language declines, we lose far more than words. We lose stories, memories, traditions and a part of our soul. Kashmiri is the voice of who we are. We must revive it, nurture it and ensure that it lives on in the generations that follow.
