A sad day today. The Sphinx will melt in the early hours of tomorrow morning, meaning that’s the fourth consecutive year it has done so.
This patch was once considered permanent. It has now melted completely since the 1700s in the following years:
1933
1959
1996
2003
2006
2017
2018
2021
2022
2023
2024
We are now in an era when its survival will be the exception. A 180° turn in a little over 20 years.
So proud of @JulianBayliss1 and the team! What an achievement for such a beautiful, and forgotten part of the world. Mabu needed it, so let’s hope the govt support with its protection. Now onto the rest of the sky islands; Namuli, Ribáuè, Inago https://t.co/RzZ0XC8wcz. Well done!
Out on all BBC News channels and BBC World Service today - the remarkable 20 year story of our last expedition to Mabu forest & the creation of a new protected area of Mabu forest in northern Mozambique @JonahFisherBBC@BIOFUND_Moz@ReGeCom_Moz@BBCWorld

@MandSBank I’m very disappointed in the delay in your loan application process. I applied on the 7th May and still nothing and it’s the 17th. I was told 3-5 working days. After 3 phone calls, still no pre-loan agreement, no monies and no car and one disappointed car seller 😢
Owls and hawks and many other natural hunters of rats and mice are feeding young now. So now's a good time not to use rodent poisons. Let our natural hunters eat clean and raise their babies. The more of them, the less we need poisons and traps.
A RARE sight! Hoopoes, a regular passage migrant to the UK & are usually seen along the south and east coasts of England. They have been recorded at few locations in Scotland with the Isle of May being one of them.

A pangolin’s diet is mostly made up of ants & termites, so you can imagine how beneficial they are when it comes to insect control. Just one pangolin can eat enough termites to protect over 40 acres of land from destruction. Happy weekend from these vital forest guardians! 🌿
The science is clear on this. Badger culls don’t work. They are not the answer. @DefraGovUK please do the right thing for the good of farming and wildlife. Please listen to the @WildlifeTrusts and the many other organisations providing all the accurate evidence you need.
@andrea40blue@facebook@Meta Doesn’t look like I will as @facebook don’t seem to care for genuine people who are victims of these acts. @Meta don’t even have a customer service department and their troubleshooter expects you to login to submit an appeal. How, when your account has been hacked!?😞 I’m gutted!
I’ve been hacked and there’s no help from @facebook@Meta at all! 15yrs of everything lost and simple way of retrieving it! The help centre does not help so please don’t point me in that direction. I’m not alone with this frustration. Very sad! Please FB, please help!?
@SurePetcare Hi there. Are there server issues? I’m trying to connect my new hub that’s hardwired into the router but continue to get alternate flashing green lights and then nothing. I’ve followed the troubleshooting: on off, unplug etc but no luck. Many thanks

@PSOSNorthLshire are there any patrols going through Coatbridge Tesco car park as those cars with silly exhausts and annoying people driving them need to be moved on! It’s been going on for hours now and so inconsiderate!
4am black grouse survey! After losing hope by not seeing/hearing any a month ago, I was gifted with two males today. This was a first I was super excited about! What a beautiful sound #blackgrouse#scotland
I absolutely LOVE this! So detailed and so beautifully captured the wonder and wealth of biodiversity that a colourful and "messy" garden can bring! and that's only a FRACTION of the bug life that you can find in a garden like the first drawing...#beethechange
@ScotRail@BogdanFodor1 This is appalling as the toilets are NEVER working and I commute a lot! Again, on the 1934 train from Glasgow Central to Motherwell, the toilet is locked - permanently! Why are the toilets never in working order. There’s better service in England than here!
