If you think of Coinbase like a bank, we now hold about $0.42T in assets for our customers, which would make us 21st largest bank in the US by total assets, and growing.
If you think of us more like a brokerage, we'd be the 8th largest brokerage today by AUM.
If you think of us like a payments company…TBH i'm not sure where we rank on that list. There are various ways to measure it, but there were about $30T in total stablecoin payments last year (not all of those were goods and services though).
The point is, with crypto the line between these categories is blurring. There are many legacy reasons these are separate in the traditional financial system - and not all of them are good reasons. Why does the money you spend lose value instead of growing in value like an investment? Why does your checking account not earn yield like a savings account (or better yet, like short term treasuries)? Many people use Coinbase to invest, but also to spend, get a loan, etc.
In the updated financial system, you will have a single primary financial account which serves all these functions. A greater % of global GDP will run on more efficient crypto rails over time. We'll have sound money, lower friction transactions, and greater economic freedom for all.
So much positive news today! Hard to pick my favorite, but this one (from the Fact Sheet accompanying the Executive Order) strikes a chord - doesn't it?
This is a climate where people increasingly see price going up as confirmation of their beliefs about their investments and what the world *must* think of them to be bidding so hard. But a cursory look around shows that many things are running hard, not just your fav asset. As positive momentum builds and sentiment reaches the stratosphere, folks begin to think they're earlier and earlier into a huge movement, extending their imagined runway, when in actuality they are being belt fed toward the exit. When the barn is emptied of all possible bear catalysts, that is when to be most cautious. Remember 2021: Tesla buys Bitcoin, Coinbase direct listing, Musk on SNL hyping DOGE, Bitcoin futures ETF launch, El Salvador legal tender.l -- all happened within 20% of the cycle top. Keep dancing with an eye on the door, and know where we likely are on the x-axis.
With $XRP heating up, here’s something you might not know: #Propy accepts XRP for home purchases!
And like XRP, Propy’s token ($PRO) is one of the few US-issued tokens, which is a big deal given @realDonaldTrump's proposal for U.S. issued tokens.
If you’re curious about how crypto and real estate are coming together, Propy is making it happen.

To the Mainstream Media
Every time you write "roadkill," I will mention dirty C.I.A. regime-change wars and our $35 trillion debt.
Every time you write "barbecued goat," I will invoke normalized government censorship, vanishing topsoil, threatened wilderness, the epidemics of addiction and loneliness, the deaths of despair, and the world’s largest chronic disease burden.
Every time you write "vaccine crank,” I will remind you of an industry with a well-documented track record of putting profits before people, an industry with unreliable regulatory oversight, an industry which is one of the most powerful entities in the world.
Every time you write “fringe,” I will remind you of my pledge to heal the divide and center us in our shared humanity.
Every time you write "brain worm," I will mention our blundering foreign policy, which has helped bring our precious earth to the brink of World War III.
Your opportunistic fidelity to a monstrous status quo has turned you into the Red Herring Machine. The Defamation Industrial Complex. The Abettor of the Social Lie.
We are a beautiful but polarized and ailing nation.
The more you smear me, the more I'll keep speaking.
The mad blind rivalry of the two political parties is snuffing out the soul of our nation.
This rivalry distracts us from our real problems—the $34 trillion dollar debt; the destructive merger of state and corporate power; our declining health; the epidemic of addiction; the growing war machine; widespread soil degradation; the fact that fifty-seven percent of Americans cannot put their hands on a thousand dollars during an emergency.
Instead of focusing on these critical issues, politicians direct our attention toward divisive culture war issues such as abortion, transgender athletes, gun control. We then discharge our anxiety and rage onto these issues, and especially those who hold opposing views on them. Thus distracted, the public offers little resistance to its ongoing robbery at the hands of elite corporate interests.
Step outside the culture war. Step outside the politics of hating the other side. Vote independent in 2024! #Kennedy24
And we just hit another ATH in title and escrow transactions! 🎉 Our momentum and laser-focused sales team have been incredible. We’ve also achieved record monthly volume and revenue.
C-execs from title companies, brokerages, MLSs, portals, mortgage, and crypto companies are reaching out to join our rocketship. The industry won’t be the same, and they want to rebuild it with us.
When the law makers are lawless, when health workers don’t help you discover health, when agriculturalists the stewards of the land violate the land, when the makers of money produce money without value, when mankind becomes obsessed with mortal flesh & neglects the immortal soul, the crescendo of the rhythm of society has reached the intensity of madness. The insane run the asylum.
A man if he is lucky, will live for close to 29,000 days. Life is fragile, lifespans are short & time is a ghost which is both incandescent & ephemeral. The point of life is not to arrive at the end of the race with an eternally youthful body, rather a weathered, well used vehicle. Because at the end of the day, the body is simply just that, a vehicle, the soul is the driver. At the end, the driver disembarks from the car, with lessons learnt from that particular trip. He will carry those lessons into his next trip…..in a new car.
Toxic Compassion is the prioritisation of short term emotional comfort over long-term outcomes.
Over truth, reality, flourishing, everything.
It optimises for appearing to do good, rather than actually doing good.
This is seen in much of popular culture as the desirable, fair, empathetic thing to do.
People would rather claim that body fat has no bearing on health and mortality outcomes to avoid making overweight individuals feel upset.
Even if this causes them to literally die sooner or have a worse quality of life over the long run.
Parents would sooner allow children to play computer games or watch screens and access social media every night instead of dealing with the discomfort of taking it away from them.
Even if it ruins their brain development, social skills and self esteem.
People would rather say that children growing up in single-parent households suffer no worse outcomes than those from two-parent homes.
Even if this misleads parents, children and teachers about why kids behave the way they do.
Campaigners would sooner shout Defund The Police as a response to what they perceive as the unfair treatment of criminals.
Even if this results in more crimes being committed against people from minority backgrounds due to the abandonment of police officers from those areas.
Elon Musk recently responded to criticism about his political alignment and contribution to climate change.
He identified how big of a shift Tesla had caused in the Electric Vehicle market, and the downstream impact of that on the environment, saying that he’s done more for the climate than any other human in history.
“What I care about is the reality of goodness, not the perception of it.
And what I see all over the place is people who care about looking good, while doing evil.”
The important tradeoff with all of these examples is between appearing good and actually doing good.
Telling people what they want to hear, giving them immediate gratification and avoiding saying anything that could cause distress prioritises the former over the latter.
The net effect is often wildly negative.
It’s the toddler who wants to eat ice cream every night.
Sure that might be what they want in the moment, but it’ll be wildly unhealthy over the long term.
I asked Jordan Peterson about this on our most recent episode.
“That’s exactly what the Oedipal situation is.
It’s the prioritisation of short term emotional comfort over long term thriving.
It’s going to hurt now, but the long consequences are positive.
If you give up your children to the world, you will keep them.”
The prospect of appearing bad while doing good is obviously not very enticing.
The opposite is Performative Empathy.
Saying whatever is required to look good, even if you don’t actually care.
And on the internet, the gap between words and actions has never been bigger.
You can be the least virtuous, meanest, most dishonest human on earth, but if you say the right things on social media, you look like a saint.
No one stress tests the words coming out of people’s mouths.
Which means that appearing good becomes more important than doing good.
Performative empathy is more rewarded than genuine empathy.
Posting about mistreated groups is more incentivised than helping mistreated groups.
puts flag in bio, has never actually donated to a charity
This isn’t me saying that you can’t do good whilst talking about it.
But that many (maybe even most) of the people who proselytise about how virtuous and caring they are, and how it’s everyone else who is evil, uncaring and the enemy are allowing their morality to stand on the shoulders of limited scrutiny.
“It’s like ‘look at how good I am’
Well if the ‘look at’ comes before the ‘how good I am’, it really wreaks havoc on the claim.” — @JordanBPeterson
Beware the people who prioritise saying good things, they might not be doing good things.
The ultimate longevity biohack is raising your consciousness
In David Hawkins book Letting Go, he talks about how advanced yogis are completely protected against environmental toxins
They basically have an energetic armor that is impermeable to all the crap that we're faced with.
For a while I was puzzled by how this could be possible, but modern science, of all things, actually gives us the answer.
The latest in quantum research proves what we've always known...
Consciousness is fundamental...it is the primary substratum of everything and is not generated by the brain like we've assumed for the last few hundred years.
The body doesn't create consciousness...Consciousness creates the body.
The body is basically one small sliver of consciousness, created like an avatar to navigate this 3D world.
And similar to a video game character, if you really wanted to change his health, you wouldnt just eat differently within the game...you'd hack the source code to withstand everything.
Raising your consciousness is doing exactly that...jailbreaking the game we're in and bending reality to your advantage.
In this view called idealism there's no distinction between mind and matter...EVERYTHING is consciousness just vibrating at a different rate.
So if you raise your consciousness enough, it can withstand anything of lower vibration...This is why true love is so healing.
This explains how the placebo effect is so powerful...I mean studies show that fake knee surgeries are AS EFFECTIVE as real ones due to the placebo effect...
Some yogis can completely reprogram their body, change the temperature of each hand individually and their metabolic rate at will -- this is pretty much inconceivable to the modern western health world.
Because our body is a puppet to our consciousness...
One of the biggest reasons I believe people in the health world never actually cure themselves from their issues, is because over time they become riddled with even more fears about what can hurt their health...
They're basically reverse placebo-ing themselves at all times.
So how do you raise your consciousness?
According to Hawkins, it's not from adding something or trippin balls in the jungle...
It's from LETTING GO of all that is holding you down.
In the meantime, it makes sense to still care about your health of course.
But don't lose sight of what really matters...
If you want to live your happiest AND healthiest life, raising your consciousness should be the primary focus.
I wasn’t drawn to tribes, I was drawn to the explorers. The ones who left behind a world of comfort to immerse themselves in stormy oceans & jungles of thorns. The ones who pushed to the edges of Earth in pursuit of the existential questions that plagued man, only to discover the spherical nature of celestial bodies, a rock without edges, which always lead back to the ports from which they departed. The explorers of new, push the boundaries of consciousness, that’s where the answers to that which we seek lie, within
