Many tribes in Meghalaya that still practise cooking rice in bamboo stalks and this cooking method is especially prevalent in the Ri Bhoi District of Meghalaya. They call the bamboo ‘ktang’ and the rice ‘ja ktang’.

Uniflora honey, is derived from the nectar of only one flower. The bees extract the nectar from a specific type of flower.
Multiflora honey on the other hand, is extracted from the pollen or nectar of various wildflowers in the surrounding area.

There is a steady decline in next-generation farmers carrying on the tradition of their forefathers.
This problem arises from the realization that perhaps choosing farming as an occupation would mean struggling to make ends meet.

One differentiation of Black turmeric and regular turmeric is that the leaves have a deep violet-red patch which runs through the length of the lamina. 🍃
