@Clipper_Revival@PeterMendel7@michaelgrange Miami is not going to contend for the eastern conference title. That’s a 2 player team with no real support around them. Not to mention Giannis hasn’t been healthy in 5 years.
I don’t expect the Knicks to win the east again either, but there are a few better teams than the heat.
@doritohoe420@arielhelwani 1. Of course there is objective data.
2. Your suggestion that the UFC will skew the data has nothing to do with whether or not objective data could be used. It certainly can. Will they? Unlikely.
@NBAdeCria@ShaunAdams_11@funkmasterMMA@bisping He finished the job with strikes to his face standing technically. He also landed more legit strikes in the scramble. But a foul is a foul so I’ll relent that there should have been a stoppage as rules dictate. Even if I feel like the majority of the damage was done legally.
@Blackcostanza@bisping I was going to argue his clean shots were far more damaging than the ones that landed to the back of the head. But if we want a true sport than fouls, regardless of intent or severity, should require a standard rule.
@NBAdeCria@ShaunAdams_11@funkmasterMMA@bisping No. Go back and watch, impartially. In the mad scramble that last a matter of seconds a majority of the shots are clean and the most damaging. 2-4 land in the illegal area but do not seem as damaging, some there’s not a good angle to tell. A few misses. It’s legit win, period.
@mick727xd@Kev_OC66@Captain_BretCat@realedmonson@davemeltzerWON That’s just not a fair or honest comparable. Bushiroad had extracted all its profit and wanted to get out of operational responsibility and shift its focus. It transferred its shares to its partners who operate their media distribution. NJPW media earnings are 10% of AEW.
@Blackcostanza@bisping It’s apparent that there were strikes in/near the illegal area. Not really Gane’s fault though, he’s trying to finish the fight while Alex is surviving and trying to stall while moving his head. Did those strikes meaningful impact the result? I question that part.
@NBAdeCria@ShaunAdams_11@funkmasterMMA@bisping Alex was not going to reverse the position he was trying to survive and stall. Did those shot change the fight in a significant way? It’s hard to say, there wasn’t a noticeable change from the shot that dropped him to after the ground shots. He didn’t recover from the initial jab
@shawnsafk@RingJourney@bisping Gane was obviously trying to finish the fight. We see this stuff all the time in those scramble situations where one guy is trying to finish and the other survive. I’m not a fan of Gane and don’t like his eye gauging style but this is a nothing burger. Alex lost fair and square.
@BLXCKSANTA11@TKing1989@bisping with a one inch variance to each side. The entire rear portion of the neck
is also illegal to attack starting at the occipital junction and stopping at the top of the trapezius. From the trapezius muscle down the spine is protected to the tailbone
@BLXCKSANTA11@TKing1989@bisping Is this better for you? Right from the unified rules of mma
Strikes to the spine or the back of the head. The spine includes the tailbone. The back of the head is defined as the area starting at the crown of the head and running directly down the centerline of the head.
Cont.
@Captain_BretCat@realedmonson@davemeltzerWON WWE sold for 9.3b after gross revenue of 1.3b the year prior.
UFC sold for 4.4b after 600m in earnings.
AEWs evaluation is roughly 4x expected gross earnings. $2b is not a reach in the slightest.
We get it you don’t want them to succeed. But they are, so deal with it and move on
@CreationNFT_eth@HappyPunch@danawhite You are very misinformed. The UFC has NOTHING to do with the hiring or managing of in ring officials or judges. These are handled by the commissions. Dana has no say. They also have no say in the outcome of the fight and are not able to change the result as they see fit.
@Captain_BretCat@realedmonson@davemeltzerWON With revenue numbers we know and the industry they operate in, a 2 billion dollar evaluation is very much realistic. The value is an estimate of what someone would pay to acquire it. An established wrestling promotion with a guaranteed lucrative long term broadcasting deal.
@Captain_BretCat@realedmonson@davemeltzerWON While Dave has been cited in the past you are lying when you say the most recent $2bn evaluation cites Dave, as it does not. They arrived at their evaluation through analysis done by Mike Ozanian. And when the new TV deal is added to this their evaluation will increase.
