@f_osoba@BonesawMD You really don't think having a strong upper body is useful for any athletic pursuit? You think that if you had to wrestle a guy with a 315 bench and a guy with a 135 bench you wouldn't feel the difference?
@NoonsRise2Power@VampiricLegz He was prioritizing not getting subbed over getting up, he was clinging on to Khamzat for dear life from the bottom at many points in the fight. I'm a huge Dricus fan but he was definitely stalling at times.
@EdLatimore Running is not an option in many cases. People are often attacked or cornered before they even realize and or might not be faster than their assailant. Running, having a weapon and having combat sports experience are all important things to have in your tool belt.
@idseval@ReformedStoic@EdLatimore Yeah weapons, especially bladed ones totally change things but even then, knife attacks/ fights often turn into a weird wrestling exchange with both parties tying up and grabbing clothing where grappling experience helps. Striking range management also helps massively.
@idseval@ReformedStoic@EdLatimore Knee stomping effectively is actually much harder than you might think. Also somebody who has experience in a kicking sport will be able to check them or move their leg.
