prediction markets are becoming increasingly data driven, and AI could accelerate that transition
think about the possibilities
AI agents scanning hundreds of markets, interpreting breaking news, identifying pricing inefficiencies and executing strategies faster than a human trader could manually
this creates new ways for participants to interact with markets, develop trading strategies and respond to changing information
it will be interesting to see how they influence participation, liquidity and trading activity across prediction markets
@nursexxl Imagine not only being able to watch the market while you sleep, but also having a bot execute your trading rules when the right conditions are met.
One of the next major crypto disasters will be a popular trading terminal getting compromised, with thousands of traders losing their entire wallets overnight.
We’ve normalized giving third parties access to our private keys, and eventually that’s going to come back to haunt us.
I believe this will mark the final capitulation and bottom in memecoin sentiment before the real bullrun begins.
Probably Q1 or Q2 2027.
When market odds can be influenced by relatively small trades, blindly following price movements becomes risky.
Know your rules before entering the market.
Turns out Prediction markets can actually influence elections
Not just predict them.
In a new study by Brennan Center showed Prediction Market odds were WAY more effectively than polls at swaying public opinion.
They showed fake Kalshi odds to participants and found the following :
- At 67%, voters were 10 points more likely to pick that candidate as the winner.
- At 84%, they were 20 points more likely.
That's important because the more voter think a candidate is popular, the more likely they are to vote for him (look up “Bandwagon effect”)
Candidates often commission "supportive" polls for this reason but moving the Polymarket/Kalshi odds is actually much cheaper.
95% of congressional races right now Polymarket/Kalshi can be moved +10 points with a $1,000 buy.
If i was a small candidate i'd set aside a small budget to move prediciton markets odds
pump odds -> pump expectations -> pump turnout.
the cftc chair asked yesterday who is liable if an ai trading agent goes rogue
at the cftc's first frontier forum on wednesday, chairman mike selig asked whether the developer of an agent has to register, who is liable if it goes rogue, how regulators can know who an agent is trading for, and whether the market needs a new kind of kyc, "know-your-agent"
those were questions, not a proposal. no kya rule and no rulemaking was announced. selig said the views were his own as chairman, not the commission's
he also said blockchains are already giving autonomous agents rails to custody and trade crypto without banks or brokerages, and that the cftc has dealt with similar issues in crypto markets before
the infrastructure side moved the same day. google previewed multi-party compute, a custody service that splits private key fragments across separate systems. it is a private preview, with commercial availability planned for early 2027. alphabet already uses it for its own assets on ethereum and solana. it is a custody security product for institutions, not an agent product
xrpl developers proposed wallets that start with zero XRP, where a sponsor covers the 1 XRP reserve. it is pitched for stablecoin payments and ai-agent accounts. it is only a proposal, and it depends on a sponsorship amendment that is not active on mainnet
separately, the cftc plans a roundtable on 24/7 trading on 15 dec, per coindesk
agents are getting money rails before they have rules, so who is responsible is still open
