TLDR: "Fantastic Danmaku Festival 1" is a better remake than what Zun Cooked, if you want to experience an EoSD remake where the devs actually care for it's theme's and source material, play FDF, Unironically.

I completed the Touhou 6 Remake and oh my god the remake really isn't worth it. (the Og is tho)
The main contention point is with the music but with other features as well. (thread)

However that begs the question of why you would play this version and not the original copy that they just give you when you buy the game.
While you do lose some QoL, these features are not the reason why it made the game so good and you can genuinely live without them.
