Modern tech company onboarding: Exchanging the MacBook Pro from your old job for an identically specced MacBook Pro from your new job, only the new one doesn’t have any stickers on it yet.

I also worked on developing SLOs with other teams, and anything else it took to keep things not just running but improving!

(Bonus points if new opportunities include working in Rust, I’d like a chance to work with it more!)

[Matt Bond | zxaos ( @[email protected] ) @Zxaos]

Unfortunately a week and a half ago I was laid off by @Netlify.

If you or someone you know is looking for an SRE with a strong background in Ansible, Terraform, and Node.js, let’s chat!

You can reach me here as well as on linkedin ( https://t.co/HME6LdZ6wi ) or mastodon ( https://t.co/Iqjgn3dCAc )

Netlify’s SRE team had to wear a lot of hats so I worked on many things from incident response, deployments & releases, modernizing and organizing the IaC setup.

[Matt Bond | zxaos ( @[email protected] ) @Zxaos]

Well, it's been... something. Catch some of you on mastodon I guess. 👋🏻

[Matt Bond | zxaos ( @[email protected] ) @Zxaos]

I often forget how old I am, do the math for some followup survey that collects demographic brackets, and then am surprised when I read my age.

[Ben Bond | Arktosaur @Arktosaur]

I know it wasn’t your fault. I know you tried.

I hope you knew you were loved, and we did all we could. I’m sorry the world was too scary, and that you couldn’t find comfort with us.

I wish that love had been enough.

Ni-night, buddy.

[Matt Bond | zxaos ( @[email protected] ) @Zxaos]

@bruxisma IKR? Game’s like “haha I caught you in my clever trap when you climbed onto that balcony!”

I know they were trying to forgo the fog walls but sheesh.

@panic The full list is https://t.co/tQducu1ABV

and it includes ways to swap back to QWERTY on the fly if I'm using a built-in laptop keyboard instead of an external. Not hoping for anything like that though, just basic remapping ability!

[Matt Bond | zxaos ( @[email protected] ) @Zxaos]

@panic Glad to see vim mode making its way to Nova! Before I take it for a spin, can you tell me if the vim-mode key bindings are customizable? I don't use a QWERTY layout...

[Matt Bond | zxaos ( @[email protected] ) @Zxaos]

@panic Sure! As hjkl aren't adjacent my main rebind is moving motion keys so they're in the same place as on a qwerty board:
h -> y
j -> n
k -> e
l -> o

Then moving the old functions onto hjkl so I don't lose them:

y -> h
n -> j
e -> k
o -> l

There's a more but that's the main change

After literally months of work, I’ve finished a whole new version of the character keeper for Trophy Dark, and I’m pretty proud of it! 🧵(Link at the end!)

@spaceliftio Any chance you're going to publish this via RSS for those of us who use traditional podcast clients?

[Matt Bond | zxaos ( @[email protected] ) @Zxaos]

Not periodically showing up in everyone's twitter timelines with some stupid comment is a form of privilege, and it's one we don't talk about nearly enough.

This person stole Wordle (a game @powerlanguish invented), put it on the App Store, and is now crowing about how rich it's gonna make him. 🤬
