Grumpy game developer, audio series and music creator, former ENJMIN student, cookie eater, moth. Waiting for @godotengine, also on *mastodon*.gamedev.place
@voxagonlabs Is that after sphere collision detections? Because if so, it sounds like objects would keep trying to sink through spherical crevices only to constantly get pushed back to box boundaries?
@reduzio I dunno about Linux specifically, but got curious about CLAP, which is supported by my DAW (Reaper). It's a simple C API which looks easy to implement, though I kinda stopped at the UI part as you're left to implement it per platform natively (X11, WinAPI, Cocoa...)
@jitspoe I would have proposed to use one of my Tracy-enabled Godot 4.2 builds (if you're familiar with Tracy), but I'm not sure how well it will work with an extension https://t.co/fT535EaHW1
@CouldBeBarney@reduzio I believe the introduction of UIDs in resources was meant to allow using `mv` outside of Godot so it would still work without having to use Godot's editor filesystem, but not sure how well that actually turned out
@reduzio@godotengine Also you said "you can customize it at Viewport level". So I thought of a workaround where I create a 4x4 dummy SubViewport with its property `gui_embed_subwindows=false`, then put my window as child. That didn't work, it still got embedded.
@reduzio@godotengine But the moment you do that it will affect the tree of the game (also triggers reparenting notifications?), which may have unwanted side-effects. Might also require more setup from the user. And still confines everything to a single window.
@devinthewater I'm doing something similar in my voxel engine. It's so much harder because can't take any shortcut like looking up the ground in one go^^"
@passivestar_@lentsius_bark@KenneyNL Another thing I do is reduce main font size to 13 (it defaults to 14). Which is still bigger than the font size of window title bars on Windows hehe
@passivestar_@reduzio One way to see it is, press blue button to download faster. Grey button is twice as big download. You can change between versions at any time anyways. Also, currently most addons dont use C#.
@UrubuEspacial@reduzio PlayerPrefs are stored differently depending on the OS. On Windows, they are somewhere in the registry so maybe it needs some kind of command line or WinApi functions to get and set.
@reduzio I'm on https://t.co/1YDqm5jAVH and it's pretty much fine here. Lots of gamedevs. Saw threads, not messy (or is it subjective?). If you move to a network I can't follow due to incompatibility, I would probably not make the effort to make yet another social media account
