⚔️ WOW FOREVER WON’T MODERNIZE CLASSES — HERE’S WHAT BLIZZARD WILL CHANGE

Blizzard’s WoW: Forever team told TechRadar it is deliberately avoiding Retail-style class modernization. The target is Classic’s slower pacing and familiar class identity, with added depth where original-era gameplay was too simple or inconsistent.

🧭 CLASSIC PACE STAYS
The beta’s current mechanical complexity is broadly the target. Blizzard wants stronger decision-making without dramatically speeding combat up or making classes harder to approach.

🧠 PROBLEM AREAS STILL CHANGE
The team is targeting specs with extreme power swings or uninteresting gameplay. The goal is improvement within Forever’s Classic framework—not a full redesign.

🔁 RESPEC RULES AT LAUNCH
Dual Specialization remains available at level 40, with no plans to add more saved specs. The beta’s cheap hourly respec is temporary: live respec costs will climb quickly and only decrease once per week.

⚖️ BALANCE CADENCE
Changes will be batched, initially weekly during the first six months after the November 4 launch. Blizzard says it wants very few design changes once the game is live.

🎂 BATTLEFIELD 6: ONE YEAR IN — WHICH SEASON WINS?

Battlefield 6 turned one on October 10. Before Season 5 arrives, here’s a look at what the first four seasons brought to the fight. 👇

🔥 Season 1 — The first chapter
Blackwell Fields, Eastwood and Winter Offensive took the action from California to a frozen New York battlefield.

🚁 Season 2 — Little Bird + night fighting
Contaminated and Hagental Base brought new battlegrounds, the AH-6 Little Bird returned, and Nightfall introduced night-vision combat.

🚂 Season 3 — Familiar battlefields, fresh fights
Railway to Golmud reimagined a Battlefield 4 classic. Cairo Bazaar and Obliteration followed, alongside weapons including the M16A4 and L115.

🌊 Season 4 — Land, sea and sky
Tsuru Reef and Wake Island expanded the map lineup, with naval warfare, patrol boats and Carrier Strike among the season’s highlights.

🎮 DMZ: YOUR BASE BETWEEN DEPLOYMENTS

🏕️ Build your FOB
Store extracted loot, prepare loadouts and improve stations. The 3D Printer opens at DMZ level 2 for crafting and upgrades.

🪖 Manage your Operators
Start with two Active Duty slots; Vault Edition starts with three. Operators develop individually, earning up to 18 Trait Points across Warfighter, Scout and Survivalist.

💀 Going MIA
Eliminated Operators cannot deploy until recovered. Spend DMZ Cash to preserve their Traits, then replace their lost gear. Recovery costs rise with Trait Points; dismissing an Operator lets you start over.

📅 Early access
Eligible digital preorders get Campaign access October 16 and DMZ October 20, ahead of the October 23 launch. Dates/platform availability are subject to change.

Call of Duty’s October 9 Modern Warfare 4 guide confirms early access and details how Operators develop between deployments.

📅 Different start dates
Digital Standard or Vault Edition preorders qualify for Campaign early access October 16 and DMZ early access October 20, ahead of the October 23 launch.

🏕️ Build your base
The Forward Operating Base holds your stash, loadouts and upgrade stations. The 3D Printer unlocks at DMZ level 2, using collected materials to craft equipment and improve stations.

🌳 Specialize your Operator
Warfighter, Scout and Survivalist provide three Trait Trees. Each Operator can earn 18 Trait Points, letting you build around different playstyles.

💀 Going MIA
An eliminated Operator cannot redeploy until recovered. Paying DMZ Cash preserves their Traits, but their lost gear must be replaced. More Traits mean a higher recovery cost.

🗺️ BATTLEFIELD 6: EA BREAKS DOWN VEGAS STRIP & AREA 51

EA’s new developer map guide details how Season 5’s two launch maps divide infantry, vehicles and aircraft when Siege of Vegas arrives October 13.

🏙️ Vegas Strip
Olympus Lobby supports attacks through the valet area, staff entrances and rooftop ziplines. The central crater leaves armor exposed above while storm drains create a close-range route underneath.

💥 Destruction & flanks
Karat Plaza’s casino sign can be destroyed, changing the center objective. Rooftops, hotel rooms and alternate interior routes are intended to keep squads from funneling into one lane.

🛸 Area 51
The surface favors tanks, helicopters and jets across the dry lakebed. Three objectives inside the crater shift the fight into tunnels, garages and abandoned laboratories.

🏗️ Control Tower
The tower begins as a powerful sniper and overwatch position. Teams can bring it down, forcing the battle into the rubble below. EA also recommends Engineers against armor and using the surrounding mountains to reposition aircraft.

🧭⚔️ WoW Forever beta: 16 Legacy Points and more dungeon XP

Blizzard’s October 8 beta build opens more systems for testing and changes dungeon leveling.

🌳 Legacy testing
All beta players have been granted Legacy Challenge completion awarding 16 Legacy Points. The minimum Legacy respec cost is now 1 silver, with the cost stepping down by one respec per hour during beta.

🏰 Dungeons and XP
City of Dalaran is now available to test. Dungeon creature kills award approximately 20% more XP. For lower-level enemies, the party XP adjustment now uses each player’s own level—not the highest-level party member’s. The no-XP restriction still applies when a party member vastly outlevels the enemy.

⏱️ Cooldown tracking
Cooldown Manager now supports every class, racial abilities and trinkets. Consumable support is planned for a later patch.

These are beta changes, not final launch guarantees. Images are earlier official Legacy previews, illustrating the system—not the October 8 build or its point totals.

🔥⚡ WoW Forever: Frostfire Bolt and faster Shaman totems

Blizzard’s October 7 Mage and Shaman deep dive details changes being tested in the Forever beta—not final launch guarantees.

🔥 Mage spell combinations
Frostfire Bolt unlocks at level 40 and benefits from most Fire and Frost talents. It uses your higher spell-damage bonus and the target’s lower resistance between those two schools.

❄️ Control and critical hits
Improved Blizzard’s maximum slow drops from 65% to 40%. Ignite becomes a separate debuff for each Mage, addressing shared damage and threat attribution.

⚡ Less Shaman setup
Persistent-buff totems last five minutes instead of two, and the totem global cooldown falls to one second. Weapon imbues last 60 minutes and can coexist with temporary weapon enchantments.

🗿 Moving and recalling totems
Totemic Projection arrives at level 22, moving totems within 30 yards. Totemic Recall unlocks at 20 and is intended to refund 25% of their mana cost; Blizzard flags that refund as currently bugged in beta.

🎨🐻 WoW Forever revises Skyborne visuals

Blizzard’s October 7 development update confirms more visual adjustments are coming as the team works to better match Forever’s original-era art direction.

🐾 HD Druid forms
The revised examples remove some softness, add more detailed fur textures and reduce the brighter color saturation. Blizzard says the goal is to keep the Skyborne’s exotic identity without making their forms feel disconnected from other creatures in Azeroth.

🧝 Standard-Definition Skyborne
SD Skyborne player characters are now in development alongside SD Druid forms. Blizzard showed an early work-in-progress model lineup and currently expects this option to arrive in early 2027.

🖥️ More visual choice
The existing SD/HD character toggle initially focused on races from original World of Warcraft. Extending an SD option to the Skyborne is intended to address the sharper contrast players noticed when HD Skyborne appeared beside older models and environments.

📅 Timing
The SD models have an early-2027 window. Blizzard did not announce a release date for the revised HD Druid forms.

🗡️🔥 WoW Forever updates Rogues and Warlocks

Blizzard’s October 7 class deep dive outlines weapon, poison, pet and talent changes now being tested in beta.

🗡️ Rogue tools
Poisons gain more charges and can remain active alongside temporary weapon enchants. Rogues can learn one-handed axes; Sap no longer breaks Stealth, and Feint’s threat reduction is doubled.

🎯 Weapon and armor choices
Expose Armor is increased to roughly match five Sunder Armor applications without blocking Warriors from using Sunder for threat. Blizzard later corrected the overview to clarify that Combat and Subtlety support all weapon types: Combat emphasizes direct damage and Blade Flurry cleave, while Subtlety focuses on combat tricks and Bleeds.

🔥 Warlock systems
Banes separate damaging effects from utility Curses. Demons scale with their Warlock’s stats, while revised Firestones and Spellstones add Fire or Shadow-focused weapon imbues.

🌳 Talents and dual spec
A new 16-point milestone joins the 11-, 21- and 31-point talent milestones. Dual Specialization unlocks at level 40.

🏝️ WoW Forever: Darkspear Islands mixes base control with flag captures

Blizzard’s October 7 preview details a 15v15 battleground off Dustwallow Marsh for players level 30–60.

⚔️ Two ways to score
Control four capture points to earn points over time. Holding more bases increases your scoring rate. A central flag adds another objective: carry it to a base your team owns for extra points. The first team to 2,000 wins.

🌀 Getting into battle
Blizzard lists capital-city battlemasters and faction bases in the Barrens as entry routes. Horde players head to the Darkspear Raiders at Merchant Coast; Alliance players use the Theramore Expeditionary Force at Northwatch.

🏅 Reputation rewards
Each faction has its own reputation track, with gear and consumables available at different thresholds. Marks of Honor support reputation quests, and reaching Exalted unlocks a short questline for an exclusive faction tabard.

This preview does not give a separate battleground release date.

Blizzard’s October 7 breakdown separates PvP progression into spendable Honor and Rank Points that advance your standing.

🛡️ Earn Honor, build your rank
Player kills, battlegrounds and relevant quests award Honor. Battlegrounds and PvP quests also provide Rank Points, with bonuses during battleground holiday weeks. Rank progression has a weekly cap.

🔨 Upgrade your PvP armor
Epic armor requires its blue-quality counterpart plus an Emboldened Seal. Your rank determines which seals you can buy. Shaman gear includes healer, melee and caster options.

🏅 Reward milestones
Epic armor upgrades begin at rank 8, mounts unlock at rank 11, and epic weapons sit at rank 14. The highest titles are Grand Marshal for Alliance and High Warlord for Horde.

📜 Seasonal tasks
Weekly journey tasks grant Honor and Rank Points. Three tasks per season also award a Legacy Point; Blizzard says these Legacy-linked tasks remain available in future seasons.

🎰 Battlefield 6 Season 5 heads to Las Vegas on October 13

EA’s new Season 5 announcement outlines what’s coming across Battlefield 6 and REDSEC throughout the season.

🗺️ Three new battlegrounds
Vegas Strip and Area 51 are among three new maps, with fighting spanning casinos, rooftops, desert terrain and underground tunnels. Blackwell Fields and New Sobek City also receive updates.

🎯 Weapons, vehicles and squad features
The season includes six new weapons, two new vehicles and Operation High Roller. Multiplayer leaderboards and Platoons are also on the content list.

🔄 REDSEC’s Rapid Royale
The new free-to-play mode puts a faster pace on Battle Royale, with kills earning redeploys. Ranked Battle Royale is also announced alongside the Open Series.

📅 Season-wide rollout
October 13 starts the season; this is a preview of content arriving throughout it, not confirmation that every feature launches that day. A limited-time Halloween event is also planned.

🛡️ Overwatch Season 5: Sombra moves to Support

Blizzard has announced major gameplay changes for A Grim Doctrine, scheduled for October 6.

💻 Sombra’s new role
Hotfix heals an ally after a short cast and can be used while invisible without breaking stealth. Cyberspace creates an area that heals allies and weakens enemies, cutting their damage and healing output by 50%.

🛠️ Roadhog’s rework
His Scrap Gun now fires two bursts per volley. Trash Compactor absorbs incoming projectiles, then fires an explosive shot that grows stronger based on the damage absorbed.

🩸 New Support: Doctrine
His scepter heals allies and damages enemies, while his drones provide healing and increased attack speed.

🗺️ New Escort map: Grímsvötn
The new battleground is an Icelandic prison built into a volcanic fissure.
