Dr Misheck Mutize highlighted Africa’s capital paradox: despite an estimated $4 trillion domestic capital base, significant capital continues to flow offshore while African economies finance development at a premium.
He stressed the need for stronger economic fundamentals, deeper local-currency capital markets and greater African capacity to assess and price risk accurately.
APRM CEO @APRM_MarieRose highlighted the governance dimension of de-risking Africa, underscoring the importance of credible institutions, predictable policies, transparency and reliable information in creating an environment where capital can be mobilised and translated into investable projects.
She further emphasised the need to mobilise Africa’s own capital alongside international finance to support infrastructure, enterprise, jobs and sustainable development.
