It's a wrap! The fourth annual Ajmera Research Day @UHNTransplant was a great success with 66 submitted abstracts and illuminating talks by keynote speakers Anna Valujskikh @ClevelandClinic and @Tereza_Martinu@UHN. Thanks to all participants and sponsors!

Congratulations @_AlexBoshart on receiving the ORT Conference Participation Award! Alex is a PhD student in Dr. Ana Konvalinka's lab at the @TGHRI_UHN. He studies antibody-mediated rejection in kidney transplantation with a focus on endothelial cells and glomerular damage.
🚨Apparently all NIH Study Sections have been suspended indefinitely.
For those who don’t know, this means there won’t be any review of grants submitted to NIH
Depending on how long this goes on for, this could lead to an interruption in billions in research funding.
It was very fulfilling to represent the Konvalinka Lab, @UHNTransplant and @UofTIMS at the annual @cst_transplant meeting in Montreal last week! Thank you to everyone who presented and asked interesting questions at my poster!
Congratulations🎉to Dr. Ana Konvalinka and her Post-doctoral Fellow Kieran Manion on winning the CST Mentor and Mentee Award at The Transplantation Society meeting in Istanbul.

I always get asked what does research look like, cause this position is never a 9-5. Here, I highlight "A week in my life", as a #PhD student at @UofTIMS. It's a combination of research, coursework, teaching, extracurriculars, and personal life.
Toronto is already a powerhouse in life sciences research because of the commitment of UofT, @UHN, @SickKidsNews, @CAMHnews , @Sunnybrook , @UnityHealthTO and other academic medical centres. Canadian government needs to step up its ambition and invest
