Just 1/2 a mile from home after a lovely off road ride around Cheshire. I happen to nip onto the path to avoid the road into my sleepy village. There's a woman and two kids up a head. I ask very politely can I nip past, they move over and just as I passing I get the comment 1/

@velobetty I had a old aged pensioner use her car as weopen against me because I dared to hold her up while my 7 and 9 olds crossed the road. Our crime we were on bikes. I agree this country is finished.

So I'm told to my face that because I'm riding a bike I'm not a person, not a human, not worth 0.1 of a second to let me past. I'm sure she's new to the village. Yet I'm still surprise that so people look at cyclists like that.

"You should be on the road" I stop and say this small section of road is quite dangerous. Its a 40 zone but the usual Audi/BMW/Merc 4x4's like to race along it. She looks straight at me and says, "Yeah but paths are for PEOPLE" she doesn't say pedestrians, but PEOPLE. 2/

We would like to send our heartfelt condolences to the daughters of Tony Morris, and everyone at Granada Reports. Tony, who was 57, died in Bury Hospice on Saturday after being diagnosed with kidney cancer last year. Earlier in his career Tony worked with us at North West Tonight

Instead of banning adverts they should ban hire purchase. No one can really afford to spend 40k+ on a car. It would solve most of the issues on the roads over night.
