@BarstoolChief I like getting Byram, I think hes a great addition to the backend… but easily could have used the 3 FIRSTS next year for him. 4th should have gone to forward help for Bedard. The Fire KD train is gaining lots of passengers
Watching playoff hockey for the Cubs game and it’s actually mind-blowingly-incredible the Blackhawks won 3 cups in 6 years. Every guy on the ice at all times right now would fuckin die for his team. And we won it 3 times in the same window?!?
I will never take that for granted
@BarstoolChief Knight/Commesso need to be the tandem next season though. I think they are both solid and dependable enough to help out this young, (hopefully) more developed D core
@BarstoolChief Especially with the cap going up, staggering out the contracts makes sense.
Going into next season with:
Vlas-Lev
Kaiser-Rinzel
Veteran D/EDM-Crev
would still be enough to be competitive if they instead package picks/prospects for a Knies, R. Thomas, Tkachuk or Robertson
@BarstoolChief I agree they have a lot to work with.
But packing that pick, one of the 2027 1sts, a prospect or two could lead to a big time player. Choosing to keep it and instead move two of next years 1sts thats even better, just feel like a 3rd or 4th overall pick is a bit more enticing
Connor Murphy deserves all the flowers. He hasn’t sniffed the playoffs in his NHL career (outside of the bubble) but never once complained about his situation in Chicago. Total pro on and off the ice. Plays the right way. Defends hard. Stands up for teammates. Beloved in the room. Happy for him as he gets a chance to play meaningful hockey for an Edmonton team with Stanley Cup aspirations. #Blackhawks
