NEWS: Top-five junior Obinna Ekezie Jr. has committed to Louisville, he announced. Ekezie plans to reclassify into the 2026 class and suit up for the Cardinals next season.

BREAKING: Louisville has landed one of the best big man available in Obinna Ekezie Jr., and he intends to reclassify and play for the Cardinals this season. 

The 7-1 Ekezie was the No. 2 ranked player in the country in the Class of 2027, per On3. 

He’s a skilled big man who can step out and can play alongside Kansas transfer Flory Bidunga at times. 

Pat Kelsey has now assembled a team that should be ranked among the top teams in the country heading into the season. 

He added Bidunga and Okezie with Iowa transfer Alvaro Folgueiras (Iowa) and Karter Knox (Arkansas). Adrian Wooley will return and the Cardinals also add guards Jackson Shelstad (Oregon) and De’Shayne Montgomery (Dayton).

BREAKING: Louisville has landed Iowa transfer Alvaro Folgueiras, his agent Deirunas Visockas of Gersh Sports told @thefieldof68.

The 6-10 junior from Spain averaged 8.4 points in 21 minutes last season with the Hawkeyes while shooting 33% from 3.

Folgueiras transferred from Robert Morris - where he averaged 14.1 points and 6.8 boards and shot 41% from 3 as a sophomore.

Arkansas transfer wing Karter Knox has committed to Louisville, per @JoeTipton of On3.

The 6’6” sophomore from Tampa, FL averaged in 2025-26:
8.1 PPG | 4.5 RPG | 46.0 FG% | 37.7 3P%

Knox missed the final 12 games of the season after undergoing a procedure to repair his left meniscus in February. When healthy, he was a Preseason All-SEC selection.

Knox is the younger brother of Kevin Knox II, a former first-round NBA pick out of Kentucky in 2018.

The Cards add a high-upside, SEC-tested wing to the roster. 🏀🔴⚫
