Regarding the #HartlepoolByElection for anyone that lives in the area, I'd advise voting with your conscience. Brexit is no longer under threat. The Tories, Labour nor anyone else should take any of your votes for granted.
@RodeLotus @CasMudde Of course it is, if something is borne out of politics then it isn't a sincere attempt to explain what is going on; rather it is driven by what is assumed. Heliocentrism is exactly what happens when you do that.
@RodeLotus @CasMudde As I say its not a theory. Its a series of political vague semi-unfalsifiable conjectures. A theory is a well defined apolitical model to describe how something works; i.e the complete opposite.
@tomhfh This is a very good point. However what it also means is that the outcome of the election becomes highly dependent on the rUK ground campaign which unlike Lab/Con could have a greater impact.
@RodeLotus @CasMudde "ethnic minorities are likely to have higher unemployment rates" is an observation that could have many univariate or multivariate explanations beyond the narrow and nebulously defined 'instiutional racism' that CRT asserts.
@CasMudde Its not relevant where the criticism comes from, but what it is. Kind of why 'critical race theory' is a bit of a misnomer, its neither critical nor a theory.
Very disingenuous. Pro freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from criticism or being called names. It does mean freedom for being arrested, threatened with prosecution and put on a 'hate incident' register simply for disagreeing with someone.
'Anti-woke' warriors are just demanding the right to say whatever they want in public without ever being criticised or called names. They honestly believe that 'freedom of speech' means 'freedom from consequences'. And they're mostly daft. Dangerous, potentially, but mostly daft.
@snb19692 This protest will change absolutely nothing. Everyone will ignore it, most people won't know it has happened, the world will be exactly the same the week after. It will have precisely 0 effect.
@OUsername1992 @MasonDAutistic@SteSib@thunderf00t I've seen that. Its definitely worth a watch. However I'd make two points
1) UK law is alot stricter when it comes to our version of Fair Use. TF has a much stronger case under US law
2) Tom Scott definitely errs on the side of caution and wants to take no risks at all.
@ThaddeusCosse @totaIIbarca @OR_MINING@TrevorMahlmann@Patreon@258 It would be interesting to see the result if this goes ahead. To me it definitely looks like TF's case is very strong here. Much stronger than carl benjamin vs akilah hughes which was one of those grey areas.
Here it seems TF unequivocally hits all 4 pillars.
