BREAKING: The insecurity in Kaduna State continues to claim innocent lives. A 13-year-old girl, Hasana Bulus, has tragically died just one day after regaining her freedom from seven months of bandit captivity.

Hasana was abducted from her home in Awon community, Kachia LGA, on April 20, 2026. She was released on November 2 and rushed to a hospital in Kachia. Sadly, she passed away the following day.

As if that tragedy were not enough, bandits reportedly attacked Akwando community in the same LGA around 12:30 a.m. on November 4, abducting 18 people, mostly women and children, and killing two men.

According to Reuben Buhari, some of the abducted victims are members of his extended family, including children and grandchildren.

Meanwhile, the Kaduna State Police Command had yet to officially confirm the reported attack at the time of this report.

How many more innocent people must die before the government takes decisive action?

For seven months, a 13-year-old girl endured captivity, only to lose her life shortly after regaining freedom. Families are being shattered, children are being abducted, and entire communities are living in constant fear.

The people of Kachia deserve protection, not endless condolences after every tragedy. The government must take urgent and concrete action to protect lives and secure these communities.

May Allah forgive Hasana, grant her Jannatul Firdaus, and protect those still in captivity. Ameen. 😭💔
