Simple way to show sport coaches that intensity isn’t the enemy during in-season training. Rather, volume and time under tension are.

Then, get them to understand it’s exactly the same when it comes to practices.

You voted to "own the libs," but it turns out the only thing you owned was your own healthcare. And now, like clockwork, you're shocked that the party you empowered is doing exactly what they promised: gutting social programs, including the very one keeping you alive.

I do feel for your fear. No one deserves to go blind or suffer without medicine—especially not in one of the wealthiest countries in the world. But what exactly did you think was going to happen when you treated democracy like a football rivalry and human rights like a punchline? When you laughed at others’ suffering because it wasn’t yours—yet?

You didn’t vote for policy. You voted for spite. You chose cruelty as entertainment. You thought “pissing off the libs” was worth more than protecting your own future, and now you're standing in the wreckage, asking why the people you voted in are stepping on your neck while telling you it's your patriotic duty to smile.

Elections aren’t reality shows. They’re not a meme war. They’re not your personal revenge fantasy against some imagined latte-sipping enemy who just wants everyone to have insulin and not die broke. You bet your life on a man and a party who told you flat-out they were going to destroy Medicaid, and now you're surprised the snake bit you after you nurtured it in your purse?

You made this bed, and now you’re crying in it. And I do hope you get the help you need, because no one should be left behind. But let this be a cautionary tale: next time, don’t vote like it’s a prank. Vote like your life depends on it. Because, as you're finding out in real time—it does.

What's missing from young athletes' lives these days? it's the fun stuff, it's the easy stuff, it's the stuff they used to do a long time ago but somehow got forgotten when everyone's driving to practice every night or playing intournaments all weekend...
It's the riding bikes
It's playing wiffle ball
It's going for a swim
It's wrestling with your friends
It's playing hide and seek in the neighborhood
It's pickup hoop games
It's football in the backyard
It's climbing trees
It's racing your friends
These activities were not only fun, but they also forged athleticism, competitiveness, and structural resilience. In the youth sports race to nowhere and injury epidemic, everyone forgot about the glue that held everything together.

I’ve been thinking a lot about Murkowski’s vote. It contains, in one action, so much that defines our pathetic political moment:
