Annual reminder: if you don’t intend to have an athlete or a relay compete at Divisionals, please courtesy scratch them so someone else gets that chance to compete!
@CoachWhitman@SprintersCompen@Olympics I think they audibled the lineup without Lyles. 3 exchanges that weren't what they drilled. I think the plan was Coleman/Kerley/Bednarek/Lyles, which left us with zero practiced exchanges.
@MikeCunningham Ask questions beyond their times and their GPA. You know who else is stripped of a name and replaced by a number? Prisoners. Give me the 13.4 100m girl with a young training age and tireless work ethic vs the 12.7 100m girl that “does it to stay in shape” and skips workout.
@CoachRudy123@MikeCunningham I want to confirm I see this a lot at the smaller schools in the northeast. Mass sent to the office at the school, 6-10 kids called down at a time when they come in to receive the same general letter. The success rate of these non-personal letters has to be bad
He says football. But this is anything. Those that do what others won’t achieve what others won’t. Track, football, bocce, school, anything. Consistent and determined.
Wow! Tom Brady may have just delivered the greatest quote I’ve ever heard.
“To be successful at anything, the truth is you don’t have to be special. You just have to be what most people aren’t: consistent, determined and willing to work for it.”
@WRR1980@CoachDJBrock But you're a fool if you think parents don't believe what club/private coaches sell them. Athletes/PARENTS are always looking for the next best thing.
"The only way to get faster is by running faster"
Does speed matter in your sport? Spoiler - it does. Come do track!
Don't use his QR code though, that's for Nashoba.
The only way to get faster is by running faster.
Not by playing more soccer, lacrosse, whatever.
If you truly want to run faster, join the winter team that will specifically train you to get faster - sign up for indoor track today! Season starts Nov. 27! #aaroooooo 🐺
@MrsRachelAndres@MikeCunningham Competition requires blocks? That feels silly.
Almost as silly as NBIN requiring athletes to NOT use blocks in some races last year
@bjorkman_samuel@CoachJTAyers You didn't ask me but 45 seconds is one of my staples so I'll offer my take. We do the workout once, mayyybe twice, a season, but we do 2x45 seconds, rest 12 minutes, then come get it again. Measure how far we get rep 1, try to be within 5m on rep two. Big confidence builder.
Okay track coaches. It's time to buy a new bag for the upcoming season(s). What have you used that you love? Also feel others have this question, so going to use @MikeCunningham to get the informal question out there. Links for purchase extra appreciated!
Research has found that sitting close to a high performer improved performance by 15%.
