@stevemagness Totally agree. I always felt that my job is to teach them to not need me. Which often leads to conversations with the athletes that shows they are developing their own success plan which is how it should be.
@DavidDack The ten minutes that stretches to 30 and then leads to doing all the things I put off for days but decided this was the perfect time to do them?
@tim_roozendaal That first experience with Maurten had me gagging. I definitely can’t run and take them. Traipsing through the woods I can down it with some cajoling
@tim_roozendaal I work in a shoe store. Sometimes it’s hard convincing people of this. Unfortunately some people get bad advice from other sources as well.
@DavidDack It’s a brilliant marketing ploy aimed at affluent people. How many people realize its original purpose was a two year series awarding $500,000 to the winner which has been reduced to $50,000?
@stevemagness One of the rare times I disagree.
Schools should have their standards, and if you have extra to offer that’s a plus. But I know that’s not how the world works
@stevemagness People also don’t want to accept that they aren’t as good as they think they are. There is a huge difference between the levels of runners. Doesn’t mean the slower people don’t deserve to enjoy running, but it’s not the same as the top tier.
@stevemagness I wish I had more space to truly express how frustrating it is listening to people make a big deal out of not very impressive results but I already spend too much time yelling at people to get off my line.
