@_weyimi As long as a single person was killed or harmed to get him there, there's nothing Tinubu can do to justify it.
If he likes, let him turn Naija to Dubai. When PO is done at the court, he should step down.
Something spectacular happened at the Abia Government Meets Business event yesterday.
The Government Meets Business is a business interactive forum hosted by the Abia State Public Private Partnership to enable businesses have a high-level interaction with government.
In fact, the Governor himself sat on the stage and took questions one by one during the one-on-one interaction with him at the forum. It was a fulfilling moment for business owners, brands, and companies in Abia.
But beyond just that, one thing caught my attention…
It was the moment Amb. Nonye Rajis-Okpara, who served as Nigeria’s Ambassador/High Commissioner to Singapore, told a story of what happened when Governor Otti was still the Managing Director of Diamond Bank.
She recounted how she once told him about going to Singapore with her to convince them to bring their businesses into Nigeria, and he bought the idea immediately and acted on it, and it became a success. This happened more than a decade ago.
The truth is that the name “Otti” has always been a brand name from time immemorial. Even in the banking sector, he had been contributing his quota to nation building.
This testimony took me to the story of Geometric Power, from his time in First Bank when he helped Prof. Barth Nnaji secure an $85 million facility.
Not minding the challenges, from when he was Executive Director at First Bank to when he transitioned to Managing Director of Diamond Bank, Otti sacrificed so much to ensure that the lack of funding that halted the project was resolved.
And guess what, he wasn’t Governor at that time, just a private sector professional interested in adding value to society and his state, Abia.
That is why immediately he became Governor, he assembled the right team to ensure that the vision of Geometric became a reality.
That’s how selfless and business-oriented the man Otti is.
From the story of Amb. Nonye and her sincere confession that investors have come to Abia because they believe in Governor Otti, you can already understand why there is a massive influx of investors into Abia.
Beyond the fact that Otti has made Abia business-friendly and enabling, another reason is that right from his previous life in the private sector, he built the kind of confidence that investors trust.
The confidence he built years back in the private sector is one of the key factors these businesses are leveraging on while trooping into Abia.
Their belief is simple, no business or investment can crumble in a state where a man like Otti is at the helm of affairs.
Moral lesson: Do not elect persons with questionable characters into leadership positions, come to Abia and enjoy the benefit of having a man with track record of excellence in office.

Yesterday marked another epoch‑making moment in our journey of transformation as we commissioned the reclaimed and reconstructed Ovom Road, Aba. The project has saved our people from the life‑threatening menace of gully erosion. What was once a hopeless situation has now become a story of renewal, resilience, and progress.
I recalled how, just a few years ago, Ovom was seemingly beyond redemption. In less than two years, however, we filled a 42‑metre gully stretching over 600 metres, a chasm large enough to swallow an eight‑storey building. With rigid pavement technology and proper control measures, we have permanently contained the menace, sparing our community from what could have been an interminable disaster.
On the same day, we also flagged off the reconstruction of the long‑abandoned Enyimba Hotel project, now reborn as the Enyimba‑Radisson Hotel, in partnership with the global hospitality brand, Radisson Blu. This 5‑star facility will deliver:
- A 120‑room hotel within 12 months
- A world‑class convention centre for businesses and public sector organisations
- Expansion to a 250‑room complex within 4 years, positioning Aba as a premier commercial and industrial hub in West Africa.
I sincerely acknowledge the vision and contributions of Ajie Ukpabi Asika, then Administrator of East Central State, and Chief Sam Mbakwe, former Governor of old Imo State, who laid the foundation for this dream. I also salute the leadership and membership of Aba Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ACCIMA), alongside stalwarts of the Aba business community, for their resilience in keeping the Enyimba Hotel vision alive across decades.
These projects represent hope, innovation, and the enduring future of Abia State. Together, we are transforming Aba into a destination that welcomes investors, tourists, and global partnerships.
Unlocking Nigeria’s Agricultural Potential: Lessons from Mai Shayi Farms
I have continued to reiterate that Nigeria can conquer food insecurity and even go further to earn as much—if not more—from agriculture than from oil. Our country has all that can make that happen, the land, the climate, and the human capacity to feed itself and become a major agricultural exporter. What has been lacking is not potential, but properly formulated policies and disciplined implementation.
After visiting the Songhai Farms in Cotonou and seeing firsthand what deliberate planning and integrated farming can achieve, I supported the adaptation of that model at Masdevan Farm in Urum. Today, the farm is doing remarkably well, not only producing food but also training young farmers and demonstrating how agriculture can become a viable engine of growth. With the right investment and policy consistency, agriculture can stimulate industries, create jobs, and transform our economy. Nigeria must act with urgency.
The Mai Shayi Coffee Farm on the Jos Plateau stands as another powerful reminder of what is possible. Built on a 30-hectare Arabica plantation with integrated processing facilities, it shows how agriculture can move beyond subsistence into value-chain production—creating employment, generating export earnings, reducing poverty, and driving rural development. With the right enabling environment, such models can be replicated across the country. I sincerely commend and thank the initiators of the Mai Shayi project for demonstrating what focused agricultural investment can achieve.
A new Nigeria is possible with the right policies—and the will to implement them. -PO
JUST IN: Governor Alex Otti says enrolment in public primary and secondary schools in the state has increased by more than 100 per cent, from about 117,000 to over 300,000 within one year.
We don’t just have a culture of corruption.
We have a culture of small gods.
Everyone wants to be feared somewhere:
At the gate.
At the counter.
At the office.
At the checkpoint.
That’s the real addiction.
Alex Otti is the evidence Abia needed to confirm that its past leaders simply failed and wicked.
He is the loudest indictment of his predecessors. The money was always there, the problem was leadership.
Hi, @Urchilla01, we think you’re right because Abia kids are all over the place doing all sorts of sporting activities. This is a volleyball league. We’re also seeing a jump in expressive art like kids having fun and rapping on the streets like they give no care in the world.
Nigeria’s budget problem isn’t just about low revenue. It’s about choices.
In a year where over 60% of Nigerians are projected to live in poverty, billions still find their way into routine government comforts with little scrutiny.

@ChisomAgbafor Lol, this is the advice I gave my former manager before she left, "never mix business with satisfaction". You can't frustrate me out of a job😅. As long as the pay is okay for me, I will come to work and write ABC for you and use my free time to do what I actually like to do😅
As citizens endure endless blackouts, the government is quietly going off-grid, with ₦17 billion budgeted over two years for solar projects to power the State House.
“I’m sure you are all aware of the recent power shortage, but Abia State was not affected. This shows that we are making real progress. All the organic waste we are disposing of will be converted into energy to power many places.”
