I learned things that I've been struggling with so I tried to make a tutorial, and I thought I could make it cleaner than how I did it the first time, but ended up with broken animations.
WHELP.
I'll try tomorrow I guess.
Or when I can afford that new rig I've been eyeing.
I am really looking forward to Black Friday to see what's on sale on the Unreal Marketplace.
Ever since they increased the amount you can wishlist, I have so many things to buy.
TBH this is why I'm looking forward to making tutorials.
Because I want to make learning material that is easier for people like me to understand concepts.
Although hopefully people learn from other places too, otherwise they may have similar struggles with jargon.
I'm sure I'm not the only auDHD dev. One thing that makes developing a game difficult is when asking for help, people give me very technical explanations.
I'm VERY bad with tech jargon, even in fields I've worked in. I apparently think about things very differently than others.

@astra__studio A high pressure game mechanic is something that makes the game harder or scarier, but you need to continue.
Outlast had the night vision camera. Amnesia and Visage had the insanity mechanic. Those things really added anxiety to the gameplay.
@astra__studio Originally I wanted my first game to be a horror. I love the genre so I did a lot of research on it. I believe that sound design and a high pressure game mechanic are the keys to a scary game.
I've done the game jam thing and had a group of people wanting to make a fully fleshed out game.
The thing is, everyone wants to make A game, but they want that game to be specific to them, and if it's not, passion runs out very quickly.
And I learned I can only rely on myself.
Yes! Aside from advice and freelance work from friends.
The answer is simple.
No one will be as passionate about my game as I am unless I can immediately and continually compensate them.
I am willing to work on my idea for free for the sake of its creation. Most people are not.
Are you building your game solo?
Can you tell me why?
Genuine question, I am really curious, as I have always been "the more the merrier"- type of person.

When I make my DevLogs, I don't want to be on camera but I don't want to be faceless either, so I decided to make this little guy as my avatar.
Made a bunch of emotions as well. Not sure if I'll go straight PNGTuber with it, or record and edit matching emotions into it.
It should be noted that by "movement system" I'm not talking about the basics. I want full IK, motion matching, turn in place, foot locking, smooth as heckin silk layered movement system.
I want that, at the very least, to feel professionally made.
So, my first goal in this game, is to get the movement system down. It should be simple but it hasn't been so far and I'm slowly untangling my systems. Hopefully it will work in the end.
I did purchase some parkour animations and I'm looking forward to setting them up.
I'm gonna set up some level stuff to show off the little bit I've started with. So far I have my character set up with dynamic movement. Autojumping on and off platforms and over small objects. Rolling and crouching, but I want to switch out the animations.
Maybe a devlog soon?
Sorry I've been awol for a bit. My game dev studies took a back seat for a bit but I'm back at it, and I think I'll be switching back to Unreal. I'm a lot better at it.
I'm hoping to make some tutorials and such as I go, since it doesn't have as resourceful a community as Unity.
Working on art. This is the main character for my game Undermorrow. Currently his name is Gus, but thinking of changing it.
Anyone want to guess on the inspiration?

And we're live! Hi! We're Cosmic Hugs.
We love experiences that will fuck you up, but in a comforting way.
Currently working on a 2D game in Unity about dying, resurrection, time loops, and supplying karma.
Also quick thanks to @WhiteFoxDesign2 for our logo design!!
