Alicent is so bird brained and ridiculous at the tail end of last season and now this one I genuinely have no idea what the writers are trying to do with her

Her plan to make Helaena drink moon tea makes no sense. Helaena is already months into her pregnancy so it could easily kill her instead of just ending it. Getting the tea only caught Mysaria's attention and made everything worse

Then she expects Helaena to leave Jaehaera behind. After watching Jaehaerys get murdered and knowing how much Helaena loves her children why would she ever abandon her only surviving daughter to the people holding them hostage

Even in the best case Jaehaera spends her life as a political hostage and gets married off for someone else's gain. In the worst case Daemon could simply have her killed. Alicent knows all this and still thinks it's a good idea

Alicent this season just feels irrational selfish and completely consumed by escaping. The writers completely butchered her character. We miss book Alicent.
