Edmonton police have dismantled a series of encampments located near 184 Street and 105 Avenue, following a large fire reported to Edmonton Fire Rescue Services.
The encampments consisted of four structures, including one under construction with insulated floors and walls made from new materials, as well as multiple open fire pits and piles of garbage and waste.
During the operation, officers discovered weapons, including a cattle prod, two replica guns, and nearly a dozen knives. A 48-year-old male with a history of property-related crimes was arrested and charged with mischief over $5,000, while a 33-year-old female at the site accepted access to services at the Navigation Centre.
Both individuals have received housing referrals through the Human-centered Engagement and Liaison Partnership Unit (HELP). Cleanup of the site is expected to take several days.
Interesting priorities. Is the Grey Cup more important than having access to health care? That type of money would just about fund after hours urgent care for a year for the entire province.
Parents of #yxe, if your son drives this, he moved to the oncoming lane to pass a vehicle in a school zone through a crosswalk & intersection at Clarence and 5th.
I also think his muffler should be checked, because I’m not sure it works well. (Photo taken on his return trip.)
Saskatoon: I was stopped by a man trying to get me into his car, a silver SUV, last night. When I said no, he circled the block and chased me down the alley to my house on foot. This was just off Broadway at 7:30. Late 20s-30s, white, brown hair. Please watch out for each other.
If someone tweeted #AllBuildingsMatter on 9/11, they would get called insensitive, disrespectful, and an asshole.
I hope every single one of you remember that the next time you tweet #AllLivesMatter when a black man is killed unjustly. ITS STUPID AND DISRESPECTFUL TO US.
Witness a real life superhero story!
