In a medical school session for our entire year group today. Our faculty are encouraging students to look at careers outside of medicine because "when it comes to speciality training - there are simply no jobs".

When patients show up sicker, they stay longer. Without a family doctor they’re harder to discharge or they bounce back.
Inpatient units at capacity can’t accept patients from emerg.
You’re not waiting in the waiting room for 10 hours because someone showed up with a paper cut.
Poor young woman walked in with her mum to local UTC with classic plaque psoriasis on scalp, face, neck, elbow & thighs burning her skin.
Has been trying to see a doctor at her surgery for the last 3 months - passed from pillar to post - pharmacy 1st to seeing everyone but a GP!
