@Master_Debunker@Bushra1Shaikh Democracy, rule of law, freedom of expression, equality before the law, freedom of religion and association, voting rights, scientific rationalism, meritocracy, intellectual and artistic excellence, high trust/lower corruption societies with working infrastructure….
@BBCNews 1. Huge crackdown on immigration, 2. Flood the market with new homes, 3. Incentivise entrepreneurship, 4. Elect politicians who’ve successfully run businesses, 5. No benefits for people with anxiety. 5. Prosecute corporate heads who endanger public safety.
@AyoubKhanMP@metpoliceuk You don’t have a right not to be offended. I don’t think it was in good taste and I wouldn’t have done it personally but I support anybody’s right to mock, criticise and satirise all religions and ideas. That’s part of the deal of living in a free society.
@LinaSeiche Zero specifics, zero data. Broad sweeping statements. Using your right to free speech given to you by the so called first world in order to critique it. Just a guess but you’re probably projecting your own sense of guilt and self dislike onto the external world.
@linmeitalks Not sure who this guest is but this really lacks vita nuance in both the framing and the answer. Immigrants are not a monolith. So to paint them all as hard working entrepreneurs is disingenuous to put it charitably.
@linmeitalks I think you’re conflating civic with ethnic nationalism. I’m not sure if you’re doing it on purpose so I’ll give the benefit of the doubt but the key issue is and always has been CULTURE not race.
@eyepodster@khalidi79397 I’d say it’s a mix of jealousy - Wherever Jews have found themselves, they’ve prospered - Plus the human mind’s need to reduce complexity down to a single cause.
@lilyjayofficial I think what you’re failing to grasp is this: controlled legal migration is fine so long as migrants want to assimilate. What a lot of Brits are opposed to is uncontrolled, illegal migration from cultures which do not share liberal values and do not want to integrate.
@MrWinMarshall Great bit of reporting. Very balanced. Shows that despite the polarisation in worldviews there is a shared set of concerns. We need more reporting that seeks to understand and find common ground.
@JMNewsNetwork_ Some of these are fair critiques of some aspects of capitalist economies. But which Islamic countries can you point to where people enjoy as much freedom, equality before the law, equal opportunity and economic prosperity? Just 1 or 2 countries.
