He says he keeps it there to remind himself that, like any skill, you can intentionally get better at it.
“One of the number one tools we have is listening…I try to treat listening with the same level of respect as any skill.”
In high-performance environments, leaders often feel the need to talk more, direct more, assert more. Yet the best ones I’ve been around do the opposite.
The best coaches create space, they stay curious, and they treat listening with the same respect they’d treat any technical skill.
