Dear Diary..
Two things I'm NOT doing.. Teaching no friend to be a friend.. & teaching a man to be a man. If it ain't in you by now, it never will be in you!
Job didn't get his old life back. He got a new one. God didn't restore what he lost. He rewrote the ending and gave him more than he had before. Some pain won't be explained, but it will be redeemed.
The last few years my birthday has been trash. This year is no different—it’s just another day. Regardless, I thank God for the breath He continues to give me.
“What's wrong with you lately? You seem to be checked out & not yourself.”
Me: I'm grieving a life I thought I would have, battling stuff that no one knows about, & craving a future that I don't think exists for me, so yeah I'm pretty checked out. I'm fine though.
i think I lost my spark. I talk less, I keep to myself, I've mastered distance. I'm not angry, I'm not bitter. I just don't have the energy to show up like I used to. Somewhere along the way, I slipped into this I don't care phase.
quit acting all surprised when people compliment you, look up to you, love your work, or see you in a good way. YES, you are desirable. YES, you are good. YES, your work speaks for itself. YES, people see your potential & your power. now it’s time for you to believe it!!!
Privilege is having rich parents who set you up for life so that you can spend your entire youth doing useless activism while never worrying about having a real job.
maturing is realising that there comes a moment where you decide “this is the last time these people are going to make me feel this way,” and you actually mean it. whether it’s family, a relationship, or a friendship.
I think every woman hits that season where she’s not angry anymore, just aware. You see people clearly. You move differently. You don’t explain.. you just shift. That’s maturity mixed with grace.
