1/ On this World TB Day, we have written an open-letter to the UK government urging them to remain committed to the global fight against #TB, and to reverse the devastating cuts to UK aid.

“What we’re seeing is a global humanitarian failure. #Sudan is a difficult place to work, but so are all humanitarian crises. The money needs to be there, but so too the political bravery to get assistance to people who need it”
@MSF General Secretary @Chris_Lockyear calling for a sustained and scaled up humanitarian response #R4Today

🔴 Repeated military attacks on Palestinian civilians
🔴 Dismantling of healthcare system
🔴 Suffocating siege
🔴 Denial of aid
Israel has been destroying the conditions of life in Gaza over the past 14 months. More in our latest report: https://t.co/4E4DCu2zKj
“I was terrified, I was scared of being captured again and going back to square one” said Nada, a Syrian woman who is pregnant with her third child.
“I could not do the cycle another time, to be forcefully taken to Libya. To make myself, my husband and my family strong again”
🔴We have received confirmation that Dr Mohammed Obeid, an MSF orthopaedic surgeon, has been detained by Israeli forces along with several medical staff from Kamal Adwan hospital during a military operation on 26 Oct.
We are extremely alarmed by the detention of our colleague.
My @Channel4News report on Israel’s relentless pounding of northern Gaza. It took a remarkably brave and persistent cameraman to get these pictures out to us. The world cannot say that it didn’t see. Or know. https://t.co/6NY4bDjw8l
Doctors have offered overwhelming evidence about Palestinian civilians being systematically butchered.
What does it say about the Western media that their testimonies are not centre stage?

Our long-standing partner @IKEAFoundation has committed €35 million for us to scale up our activities in Sudan.
Around 25.6 million people are facing critical levels of food insecurity in the country.
We’re grateful to the IKEA Foundation’s focus on underreported crises and encourage a collective increase in aid to Sudan.

Just too heartbreaking to even comprehend.

This year is different.
That’s what I heard from my Nigerian @MSF colleague who has worked with us as a doctor for 8 years in the country.
And why wouldn’t he think that?
3. to hold to account those who all too often avoid accountability in their own countries. Anyone who has seen our interviews with Hugo Chavez, Sergei Lavrov, Meles Zenawi, Lula, Nancy Pelosi, Recep Tayep Erdogan, Emmanuel Macron, Imran Khan, Olusegan Abasanjo, & countless others
2. and all who believe in the importance of independent, rigorous deeply-researched journalism. At a time when disinformation and media manipulation are poisoning public discourse HARDtalk is unique - a long-form interview show with only one mission:
Sudan - a country already at war - now faces another battle as flooding has sparked a cholera outbreak.
Jacob Granger from @MSF says the situation is 'adding misery to misery'.

Horrific news today.
A ceasefire is needed now to stop this bloodshed.
On October 14, an Israeli airstrike targeted an area housing displaced people inside the MSF-supported Al-Aqsa Hospital compound in Deir Al-Balah, resulting in 65 wounded and 5 dead.
It is the seventh time that Al-Aqsa Hospital compound was bombed since March 2024; three of them in the last month.
“It’s a scene of devastation. Tents caught on fire while people were sleeping. The hospital treated 40 patients, including 10 children and 8 women; many of them with severe burns. 25 more injured patients had to be referred due to the lack of capacity.” - Eliza Sabatini, MSF nurse.
A few hours before the airstrike on the hospital compound, another strike had hit a school used as a shelter, in Nuseirat camp, north of Deir Al-Balah.
Dozens of wounded people were brought to Al Aqsa, already overwhelming the hospital and medical staff.
“Successive mass casualty incidents like these would be very difficult for any well-equipped hospital. In Gaza, where we continue to face heavy restrictions on medical supplies, it is simply impossible to provide adequate care to the patients,” says Sabatini.
Repeated attacks on medical facilities in Gaza must end. Health structures and medical staff must be protected at all times, and warring parties must respect hospital grounds.
People in Gaza are trapped under relentless bombings. #ceasefirenow
