Game deserved a goal. That Ivory Coast attack could do serious damage and the athleticism in the backline is really impressive. Thought the midfield was underwhelming - Fofana in particular - but they look like dark horses that actually could do something. Ecuador look well coached and aggressive but lack a bit of quality #CIVECU

That was a fun half. Ecuador pressing really well in Ivory Coast's half. Vite & Franco impressive. Diomande showing he really is that guy - been leaving Hincapie for dead. Should be goals in 2nd half #CIVECU

When watching Rennes to see Desire Doue his brother Guela playing right back for Ivory Coast now stood out almost as much. Think he is a profile a lot of big clubs would love. Excited to see Diomande too. 🇨🇮 is stacked with talent. Bazoumana Toure on the left someone Celtic missed out on 2 years ago #CIVECU

Pretty uninspiring half. Dutch movement poor - don’t like Dumfries so deep in build up. Expected Japan to Japan very good at blocking off the centre and not taking the bait to jump out too far to full backs. Think Daizen can hurt 🇳🇱 between Dumfries/Van Hecke when Dutch are shifting in to back 5 #NEDJAP

This is probably the game I've been most excited for after Scotland. Looking foward to seeing Kubo and Kaishu Sano. Watched the latter's first game in Europe at Mainz and immediately went 'wait, who's this guy?' Almost certainly getting a big move soon and this is his platform. Hoping for 2/2 for strong Celtic performances so far this tournament! #NEDJAP

8 Scotland players that played tonight also played against Czechia in the first game at Euro 2020. That Serbia penalty shoot out, Euro 2020, Beating Spain and that late comeback vs Norway to qualify for Euro 2024, thinking the World Cup dream was over after the Greece game before the madness of beating Denmark to qualify for the first time since 98. I’m really happy this group got their tournament win. It’s been a long road.

That was brutal 😂 but a huge win. Doak excellent. Has so much trust and responsibility put on him. Thought Ferguson was easily the best midfielder and the only one picking his passes. Don’t have high hopes for the other 2 matches but the team deserved their first tournament win #HAISCO

2nd half died a little but an enjoyable game. So impressive how Morocco have evolved from 2022 to platform the new level of talent they have coming through. The speed of their breaks will be terrifying vs Scotland #BRAMOR

Switzerland def/midfield in total control but a real lack of quality up top and zero intensity done them. A great header at the end. Had the vegetables, now for the dessert of Brazil vs Morocco #QATSUI

Can't believe Nico Elvedi is STILL in his 20s. He played for Gladbach against Celtic 10 years ago and he's still there now. Always been a classy defender. Switzerland could easily have 3 or 4 by now #QATSUI
