This is NOT just about money issues. There is a fundamental failure of leadership, hence a lack of structure, communications, investment and progress that's wasted resources (including funds).
It's got to the point where #swfc needs rebuilding from the ground up.
We all like a bit of good news, but let's not forget the main goal, Chansiri has to go, protest still on, spending boycott still on. Chansiri still has money issues & can not run the club. Let's not forget that #swfc
@robstaton Or the EPL should merge the current championship and the top 16 clubs in D1 into the EPL 2 (Ladder), as in the Scottish and Nations League.
Bottom 4 go down to Nat Lge. Top 12 have a televised league play off during the last 2-3 months of the season. Top 3 promoted.
#swfc
@robstaton Time to put in the contingency plan, folks! EPL 2 and 3 (or North and South). With relegated clubs plus the top 16 clubs in D1 added into the EPL. The rest go into the National Lge and the EFL gets what it deserves.
I know which way the EFL clubs will vote.
@djkyffin@DaleJohnsonBBC No. I'm not saying Arise or bust.
They could refuse to grant us a license if we don't have our own ground.
Rules have been changed because of what Leeds got away with.
@djkyffin@DaleJohnsonBBC Nope. If that happens the worst case (also most likely case) is that the EFL refuse to grant the club a license - in which case they would be liquidated.
Selling the club for £1 is just some weird fantasy. If that happened, they'd also be expelled from the league.
@grassrootsrefJa Just one example of how EFL can and do exercise discretion against the 'rules agreed to by the clubs', thus contradicting your earlier point.
@georgelerobot@DaleJohnsonBBC Exactly. Chansiri sank Wednesday more effectively than the EFL had managed with any club**. Then the EFL came in and - rather than recognising that no buyer could take their sanctions and business plans - is doubling down to ensure the club is not sustainable.
@WainwrightTM@AlanBiggs1@punkchef41 The IFR cannot do that. If he was still the owner they could have taken the club off him and stopped it from being put into administration. But all they can do now is declare him to be unsuitable.
@AlanBiggs1 Meanwhile the posturing / apparent intransigence from the EFL appears to indicate that they want 50% of the credit for forcing #swfc of business. A bad and unnecessary situation all round.
@medfootix Entirely down to the EFL who saw that the owner had weakened #swfc to the point where it couldn't compete. They saw it as their duty to preserve the sporting integrity of the league and ensured said team would not be able to compete fairly with anyone. Not this season or next.
@AlexJPMiller Shocking failure of governance. IFR is to ensure that the football club is financially sustainable but they step aside to allow the EFL to excessively punish the club with sporting sanctions. Then they insist that Storch has to put in place a 3 year, worst case business plan.
