STORY: Man raped teenager at tutorial center gave her ₦500 and a PT. Police is pressuring the family to accept ₦200k to bury the case in Lagos and swap statement.

The policewoman allegedly remarked, but has now denied after the case was escalated by DOHS Cares Foundation.

The 15yo victim always went for tutorial after school, where she’s always early and often the first there.

Unfortunately, the rapist who happens to be there neighbor at home, and a lesson teacher at the tutorial center, forced himself on her and threatened to kll her if she told anyone.

After the horrific act, he traced her to school and gave her a whopping sum of 500 naira and Pregnancy Test tool, garnished with more threats.

The victim eventually found courage to tell a trusted teacher in school who escalated it instantly to her mom. On June 13 they involved the police and got Mr. Michael arrested the same day.

But since then, the Ketu police officers have played the lead role in pressuring the family to withdraw the case.

On the day the rapist was to be arraigned, the police suddenly started yelling that he had fainted, because the victim’s mom was being “wicked”. Therefore, she should accept the 200k and withdraw the case for his health sake.

The suspected negation officers, also took the 15yr-old minor aside pressuring her to take the 200k to withdraw her case and write another befitting statement. She refused.

The mother believes the police deliberately don’t want the rapist prosecuted. And the fainting was staged to draw sympathy from she and her daughter, before her brother and other men in her family arrived.

Before the police escalation, Michael visited the family twice to beg; First along with Church members, and subsequently alone. This time smugly asking the family to “forget about everything.” Which provoked them to police escalation.

After the ‘fainting’, Michael has been in admission in Gbagada General Hospital.

When he is fit, he will be arraigned immediately. The Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi has confirmed.
