@AllenFrancesMD Let’s guess: the meds of choice that will be recommended “according to scientific evidence” might be a combination of anti anxiety and ADHD meds.
@NTFabiano Why is never discussed the probability that cannabis might have being used to self-medicate against the symptoms of schizophrenia? All the PR is against cannabis, but nowadays hardly any PR against for example cocaine. And who is more likely to use one or the other? Interesting.
@romyromy21_ Because they don’t want to work with individuals diagnosed with BPD, and both male and female clinicians in general see it primarily as a female diagnosis, so in some way, it is a sexist bias.
@the_mel_jar The real problem is between psychoanalysts and general psychologists. Psychoanalysts always come across as the ‘holier than thou,’ the ‘know it all.’ They discard anything that it’s not psychoanalysis, and complain when the ‘little people’ criticize their views.
@DoctorPerin One reason could be that the current professionals in so many ways imply that there is nothing new to learn: either you become a pseudo-Freudian or a behavioral / cognitive “expert.” And testing has become a boring subject.
@sanilrege@psycheureka Both of you have relevant, valid points. But at the moment both points of view discount each other (because those are solely points of view), then the diagnosis can’t be included in the diagnosis criteria book(s).
@madrid_mike Trump’s style and expertise is to make people settle issues to his favor, not to fight “face-to-face.”
That’s why is very puzzling what he just did. Likely his aides persuaded him to go this route. Why he agreed? That’s the big question.
@Paolisimas He just wants attention. No one is going to approve a $250 bill. Besides, we don’t carry much cash anymore. Again, he just wants attention, that’s it.
@Codie_Sanchez Cody, we’ll have to disagree on this specific analysis. In the case of Canada and Mexico, Trump is just being his predictable self: Threaten big, then last moment backdown and settle. He sees settlements as his big win. If he doesn’t settle, things may not necessarily go his way.
