The producers of Married at First Sight work tirelessly in cahoots with relationship ‘experts’ to put two people who wouldn’t even be friends in the real world, in a marriage. Then they sit back and watch it all burn.
My biggest fear about our generation is the lack of community.
Earlier this year my grandmother passed and I watched an entire village come together to help with the proceedings. There were women who brought their massive pots and cooking utensils while the men brought chairs, tents and tables and also offered much needed hands. I genuinely couldn’t believe how many people showed up. People were even cooking throughout the night. No matter how much you may think you’ve prepared for a funeral, it’s never enough especially in the village. It made me realize that such things wouldn’t necessarily happen in urban areas.
Many young people just choose to live in complete isolation. Some don’t even know their own neighbours and it makes you wonder who will stand beside them when the inevitable occurs.
Hey @Netflix: The first season has 10 episodes and you binge it in a week. The second season airs three years later with 8 episodes that come out in two random chunks six weeks apart for no reason. And by the time it airs, you've forgotten the first season anyway and it's not worth the time to go back and rewatch it.
There. Just saved you a crapton of consulting money. You're welcome.
My spouse saying to the four year old about his brother, "He is telling you about it because he's excited, not because he thinks you don't know." And that, my friends, is also a lesson I need to hear.
Please stop giving children food or snacks without asking their parents first.
A neighbour gave a child a snack. The next day, the child developed diarrhea, became dehydrated, and had to be rehydrated in the hospital.
Personally, I think it was probably a coincidence rather than the snack causing the illness. However, to the mother, there was a direct link between what her child ate and what happened afterward.
Imagine if the child had died.
Whether the snack was responsible or not, that neighbour would have carried the blame forever.
Beyond allergies and choking risks, this is another reason to always ask a parent before offering food to someone else's child. It's a simple act of respect that can prevent misunderstandings, and in some cases, tragedies.
Menzi buried his philandering father, who had died of AIDS. At the funeral, he banged his father’s girlfriend, with the full knowledge that they were having unprotected sex because the same girl gave his mother gonorreah through his father.
We need soul city to come back!
Girl to girl: study the patterns in your family. Look at what distracted, delayed, or derailed the women before you, then make intentional decisions to break those cycles.
refuse to be a victim of generational curses ❤️
After giving birth, a woman's internal wounds take six months to heal, 12 months for physical recovery, two years for hormonal balance, and up to five years to rediscover her identity. Relationships frequently fail during this time due to a lack of understanding. Be kind and patient with new mothers; they are facing more challenges than it appears.
