Before #FIFA start pumping the propaganda tonight and telling us all how amazing this #WorldCup has been, let’s remember they oversaw:
- highest ticket prices ever and took a cut from resale sites.
- did nothing about Somalian referee and dozens of staff who were banned from entering the US for no legitimate reason.
- stood by as Iran were forced to train outside the US and travel in on match days.
- overturned red cards after phone calls with the president.
- Americanised the beautiful game with hydration (TV) breaks and 25 mins half time in the final
- guided Argentina through the tournament with less travel, VAR support and blatantly turning a blind due to their aggression and foul play.
@CharlieBarnicle@cocainsocialist I felt he could’ve done better with Croatia’s first, and I wouldn’t fully blame him for the Enzo goal as they should’ve closed him down far better, outside of them I felt he did good
@CharlieBarnicle@cocainsocialist Because like I said previously, I feel with a lot of goals we’ve conceded there’s a question mark over whether he should’ve saved it, his premier league stats aren’t going to make me not question that.
@CharlieBarnicle@cocainsocialist I didn’t say that.
That’s also solely focussing on premier league, again, he’s a very good keeper and he’s been brilliant for Everton over the years, I just don’t think he’s the keeper that helps us win things
@CharlieBarnicle@cocainsocialist Tbh mate I don’t think the stat definitively proves anything as you suggest there’s variables to it.
I don’t think we will ever win anything with him in net, for me, when push comes to shove in the major tournaments there’s always questions about some of the goals we concede
