Neera Tanden is the leader of a corporate Democratic faction that would rather see populist Dems lose to Republicans than see populist Dems successfully defeat the GOP, because if the latter happens then she & her faction no longer have much power, relevance and/or business.

This is an existential moment with do-or-die stakes for this corporate faction. They will sabotage populist Dems who are fighting Trump and the Republicans if they believe that is what they must to do maintain their power inside the Democratic Party.

You cannot really understand this political moment if you don’t understand this reality.

One of the most striking indictments of US news media made in the Kristof piece, unintentionally, is that we are given an incredible example of how the word of Israelis is taken without any shred of evidence while Palestinians must provide every detail imaginable of the violence inflicted against them, and even then their suffering is treated, at best, as secondary if even acknowledged.

Also worth noting that Screams without Words was an official investigation by the New York Times and this report is in the opinion section.
