-go into pre production hiring top industry vets
-release more info hyping up the fans
-cancel project 6 months later
-profit?

I will not be supporting any other reboot, if the OG writers can't bring their vision to the screen I have no interest in watching someone with no connection to Stargate fumble their way into making a series with "broad appeal"

@17blackdev @BaronDestructo The community has pulled together plenty of times, we can do it again. If we can make it trend, find emails and email the executives from amazon/MGM, cancel subscriptions. I'm sure they might come together.

If you are a true #Stargate fan, I am calling for fellow fans to cancel their Amazon subscriptions. Teach the studio and @AmazonMGMStudio execs a lesson. Do not go against a dedicated fanbase of some of the best sci-fi shows ever made.

#wewantstargate The best way too protest this decision is too start going on livechats with amazon, keep hounding them with tweets, email their executives etc. Make your voices heard and tell them we want a stargate with original writers not a fresh perspective.

Amazon has canceled Martin Gero's new Stargate series. The show had completed a 20-week writers room and was in pre-production in the UK.

The stated reason: Amazon executives were concerned it would not have broad appeal beyond the franchise's dedicated fanbase.

They killed a Stargate show because it was made for Stargate fans.

Gero spent five years on SG-1, Atlantis, and Universe. Brad Wright and Joe Mallozzi — architects of 15 of the franchise's 17 seasons — were consulting producers. Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin were executive producers.

Amazon says it still wants to develop Stargate, possibly with a showrunner without franchise history who can give it "a fresh new perspective."

The fans who waited 15 years since Universe was canceled just had their answer.

Amazon has CANCELED the new Stargate show.

The fandom was actually excited about this. Everyone was on board. They brought back the original writers who we all love. And the suits killed it.

They keep blowing money on crap like Rings of Power and we can't get anything good because these idiots want to push agenda over good sci-fi. They say it's "no longer aligned with Amazon's programming strategy."

I'm beyond livid right now. We have to do something to let Amazon know this isn't acceptable.
